Can I just have a tactical game without all the BS?
Is there a patch coming where we can just play the tactical side without all the endless free-running ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥? I want this game to be roughly 95% tactical and it feels closer to 25%. I don't want to be tripping over invisible tripwires, it's seriously unfun.

The tactical portion of the game is spot on and perfect and I don't understand why that needs to be rationed out.

You keep buying what they selling, so no reason to change I guess. Darkest dgn, xcom, total war series, chaos 40k chaos gate etc. If you don't like it, don't buy it or refund shrug

I want to love this game. I was one of the most hyped for it ever and I bought it as soon as I knew it was finally released. That was months of hype. I just hate this otherworldly ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ where I have to go do trivial ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ tasks in order to get into the meat of the game.

Like literally 50% of the game is either me dealing with ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ plots written by failed Hollywood writers, or me trying to get around/defuse traps/etc. where there is zero ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ payoff to me doing it other than me getting to actually get to the fun part of the game. I got shot at by automatic cannons, I tripped over tripwires that exploded and hurt me - how is this fun at ALL? It's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ terrible.

I played the demo WAY more than I played the finished product. Because the demo wasn't overrun by ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. It was just a tactical game, and I got to kill lots of enemies.

I just want to kill goobers. That's ALL I want to do. I don't want this stupid ass plot or backstory or family issues or anything else. I don't want any of that. Can I just get a patch that gets rid of all this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ nonsense and restores me to a game that I want to spend 90% of my time enjoying rather than 25%?

Your 25% claim is hyperbole. I don't know what you did, I didn't spend 75% of my play time on the other parts of the game.

That's not what this game is, that's not what this game was supposed to be, that's not what the majority of potential customers want to play.
I know I wouldn't want to play a game that consists exclusively of combat, combat and nothing but combat. That's boring. Not with this game's combat system anyway, it's not complex and deep enough to be the sole entertaining factor for hours upon hours.

But running through a mostly linear level with some interactive elements is entertaining in your opinion? I ask, because i think that this is the weakest part of the game: it has basically no choices and gets really tedious if you are replaying the game.

Yes and no! I like the tactical combat very much and it´s not too shallow for me, but I like also the little puzzle elements, just for fun. It´s a nice mixture after all which you may like or not!
After all it´s a small company and they did a great job with this game (though a bit too short maybe) and I jope to see more from them either regarding this game (DLC, sequel) or another good TBS game, like Hard West 2 was too, which part of them made....

Hate to break it to you man, but you're playing the wrong game then
If you just want the tactical side, then you'll want XCOM

This one mixes it up by adding in that stuff of the running around, avoiding traps
I like it, breaks up the fights, makes it unique.
But I can get why you wouldn't like it

This one is a lot more story based, with pre-set fights and characters
While XCOM is far more open, random characters and missions for way more repeatability

Yes. They will definitely release a patch that will fundamentally change the game just for you, I’m sure.

A DLC with different arena fights, but without the exploration, similar to Expeditions: Rome would certainly be an option. This would also improve the replayability.

I enjoy those parts. I think the puzzles make for a nice change of pace from the combat. As I said, the combat in this game isn't overly complex, so if it was nothing but combat all the time, the combat would have to be much deeper.

I'm not saying the non-combat part is perfect. It could certainly be improved upon. But this isn't a AAA title with a huge budget, overall I'm happy with the product they released.
As for replay value, I don't see this as a game you play over and over again anyway. I'm currently on my second playthrough, trying to finish it on hard difficulty for the final achievement and then I'll probably be done with this game. Knowing how the puzzles work will hopefully make this run a bit quicker.

I found that XCom Chimera squad is a good example of mostly "pure-combat". It's not a game for everyone but it's what I was playing (on my second playthrough) when Showgunners released. I was immediately very satisfied with showgunners mix of a bunch of different games and definitely felt like there were some strong similarities to Chimera squad.

Being a tactical turn-based games lover myself (xcom2, gears tactics, Phoenix point, mutant year zero, miasma chronicles), I kind of liked the free-running parts with the comments. To each their own I guess.

OP should've just refunded the game when he hit the first few tripwires. (which btw, are NOT invisible, after you hit a few and you realize these things exist they're pretty easy to spot)

IMO this is like a 60% storytelling/adventure game, and 40% actual tactical turn based combat game. It's heavy on the story, has linear levels, and fixed pre-designed levels (as opposed to procedurally generated levels). Character skill trees / upgrades / items are definitely on the simple/casual side, and isn't meant to have a ton of replayability.

Asking for a relatively casual story/adventure game to be a 95% hardcore tactical game? Lol...

I don't hate the traps but I do hate that the camera seems to refuse to zoom in enough to see the bloody things when they are tripwire based.
