9th Dawn III es la tercera parte de una saga de juegos de rol creados por una sola persona en los últimos 8 años. La historia nos transporta al mundo de Cedaltia. Comenzamos con un aventurero que podemos crear a nuestro gusto, desde su sexo y apariencia (limitado por el motor de juego), incluyendo sus atributos iniciales.

Tras la creación del personaje nos hallaremos en unas alcantarillas dónde deberemos escapar a la superficie, al pueblo de Ashwick, en el cual comenzará nuestra aventura en un mundo abierto y con muchos calabozos que recorrer.

¿Que nos esperará en esta aventura con un mundo abierto enorme? ¿Conseguiremos descubrir porque aparecen sombras fantasmales en el lago de Elmson? ¿Derrotaremos al mal que acecha en cada esquina?

Los gráficos del juego son tipo pixel art, muy logrados, existiendo animaciones limitadas pero muy bien logradas.
El movimiento de los héroes está muy bien logrado al parecer como una figura en un tablero, la animación del rodar está muy bien lograda, al igual que las animaciones de los enemigos.

Apenas consume recursos para una GPU moderna, ni la sobrecalienta, siendo un título que podrá ejecutarse en sistemas de gama baja sin muchos problemas.

Existe cambio climático, siendo un efecto de lluvia simple pero efectivo. Tiene efectos visuales para casi todos los estados que nos pueden ocurrir positivos y negativos.

Sin lugar a dudas un punto importante para un título creado por una sola persona.
Perfecto para ser jugado en cualquier tipo de sistema sin mucha complicación.


La música es muy buena, teniendo temas para los calabozos, los pueblos, las batallas.
De nuevo un buen punto en el título, ninguna de las melodías desentona con el entorno.


9th Dawn III tiene una mecánica muy lograda. Es un RPG de acción siendo pues en tiempo real el combate contra los enemigos, sin turnos.
Nuestro personaje (y acompañantes) poseen 5 atributos: Fuerza, Resistencia, Inteligencia, Sabiduría y Destreza.

Todos ellos son importantes, pero deberemos entender cómo funcionan cada uno para el tipo de personaje que queramos crear ya que podemos desarrollar un personaje como queramos, pudiendo ser un guerrero de fuerza bruta y alta resistencia, hasta el mago débil pero muy poderoso en ataques mágicos gracias a su gran sabiduría e inteligencia.

Esta libertad de poder crear el personaje que queramos es un gran acierto, tenemos distintas habilidades pasivas que van aumentando según se realizan distintas acciones, como combate con dagas (que aumenta usando dagas en combate), regateo (que se amplía comprando y/o vendiendo mercancías), y muchas más.

También tenemos habilidades especiales que nos otorgarán ventajas pasivas (como aumentar nuestra salud de forma permanente) hasta hechizos variados de combate, curativos e incluso uno para invocar a nuestra montura en el caso de que la tengamos. Estás habilidades se aprenden encontrando puntos de aprendizaje en el mundo de juego o por recompensas por hazañas.

Se nos presentan 3 barras de energía, siendo vida, mana, y resistencia. La resistencia se agota realizando ataques especiales y rodando (la esquiva del juego).

Podemos vernos afligidos por distintos estados como sangrado, envenenamiento, etcétera; al igual que positivos como vendajes, comida...

Podemos encontrar a NPC que se unirán a nuestra causa pudiendo intercambiar a ellos cuando queramos, los cuales tienen su propio inventario, estadísticas, etcétera haciendo pues de ellos otro personaje más. También podemos capturar a más de 200 monstruos distintos y evolucionarlos para que luchen a nuestro lado.

Aparte de la propia historia principal como las secundarias, podemos jugar a un juego de cartas con casi todos los habitantes del mundo, teniendo más de 150 cartas distintas a coleccionar cada uno con sus atributos. Las cartas pueden ser normales, brillantes, e incluso más poderosas.
¿Conseguirás ser el maestro y tener todas las cartas?

Tiene 50 logros de Steam, algunos de los cuales van a requerir jugar muchas horas para conseguirlos.
También tiene juego cooperativo local o por internet con "Remote Play Together" y poder jugar con un amigo.

Un excelente juego de rol.

PROS:

1. Un enorme mundo de juego abierto no lineal y múltiples calabozos enormes.
   
2. Infinitas posibilidades de desarrollo de nuestro personaje.
   
3. Más de 200 monstruos a enfrentarnos y poder capturar si nos atrevemos.
   
4. Juego de cartas integrado con más de 150, ¿podrás tenerlas todas?
   
5. Una historia elaborada y múltiples misiones secundarias.
   
6. 50 logros de Steam.
   
7. Desarrollador muy implicado creando parches a petición de la comunidad.
   
8. Más de mil objetos para obtener, hechizar para hacerlos más poderosos, y mucho más.
   
9. Creación de objetos en habilidades como la alquimia, la herrería ... sin olvidar .. la pesca!
   
10. Banda sonora buena al igual que sus gráficos pixel art.

CONS:

1. No posee cartas de Steam, esperemos que pronto puedan ser incorporadas.
   
2. Las barras de vida, mana, y resistencia no tienen valores numéricos. Pese a que entiendo la decisión de diseño de olvidarse de valores los jugadores nos gusta poder ver de una forma menos abstracta estos valores informativos ya que nos gusta poder entender al máximo y así poder crear a un personaje incluso con más control que lo que ya ofrece por sí el juego, que es mucho.
   
3. No está en español.
   
4. Al cargar una partida en un calabozo podemos aparecer rodeado de enemigos pues estos reaparecen al cargar la partida con la sorpresa y posible muerte si el mando no responde temporalmente. Estaría bien poner unos 5 segundos de inmunidad tras una carga de partida dónde tampoco podamos hacer daño para dar tiempo al jugador.

CONCLUSION:

Una pequeña joya escondida en Steam que todo jugador debería tener en su librería.
Gran juego de rol, creado por una sola persona y parte de una saga.
Muchísimas horas de juego para conseguir todo lo que nos ofrece el título que es infinitamente más de lo que muchos juegos AAA nos ofrecen.

Mi valoración final: 9/10

Está muy bueno, tiene mucho que ofrecer, ojala lo sacaran en español para disfrutar mas de la historia
, pero su ingles no es complicado con un ingles básico entiendes todo, todo lo que dice que ofrece lo tiene,
las mazmorras son complicadas por la cantidad de bichos pero divertidas, y una vez que entiendes las mecánicas se te abre un mundo de posibilidades

Yeah grab this while it's on sale. If you are like me you go directly to the reviews. Here is some info:
1. This is an ARPG, realtime with interactions/quests that remind of the Ultima series back in the day. I would say that this game reminds me of a real time Ultima II.

2. The action isn't over whelming at this point.

3. As you level up you assign attribute points along the standard fantasy stat lines (Strength, Intelligence, Wisdom, ect.)

4. Your skills level up independently based on your skill use

5. Interactive crafting system

6. This is NOT a card game (I HATE card games) but there seems to be an in depth card game if your into that. You can sit down and play with NPCs.

7. Full inventory system

8. TONS of places to explore and kill stuff. Farm all you want or just do the quests. Seems to be up to you

This game is worth the money (Bought for ten bucks). I look forward to spending many hours in it.

Pros:
Es bastante abarcativo, con muchas mecánicas... lo suficiente para gastar horas sólo en crearte un equipo decente.
Su sistema de fabricación es Innovador, sus mazmorras intrigantes y enfrentamientos con enemigos que se regeneran al cargar una zona distinta lo hacen ideal para farmear por horas.

Contras:
La experiencia con un segundo jugador es un poco engorrosa y les puede llevar tiempo entender el juego si uno no sabe jugar... Recomiendo empezar una partida de cero con dos personajes nuevos.
No esperen buenas gráficas, si te centras en las mecánicas el juego SÍ Vale la Pena.

This is the first game I've ever purchased after seeing an advert on Reddit!

I've been pleasantly surprised at discovering a deep and unique ARPG. This is probably quite a niche pick; but manages to tickle me in all the right places. It reminds me of old school Ultima Online, combined with Diablo, or perhaps Divine Divinity, with a bit of Pokemon thrown in (creature trapping and collecting), and then a card game reminiscent of some of the old Final Fantasy card games on top.

• Interesting old-school genre

• Lots of dungeons with simple puzzles
  
• Fun collectibles; Pokemon style animals & card mini-game.

9th Dawn 3 doesn't hold your hand and I'm a big girl now, so I like that a lot. It lets you walk out of the tutorial and do whatever you want to, but offers you plenty of options of quests if you want direction. It has a complex and deep crafting system, albeit very grindy, which means almost everything you pick up in the world is actually useful, but it doesn't force you to use it if you don't want to. I do want to, very much, I bloody love crafting. I'm off to collect 32 billion more spiders legs, right now.

Gameplay itself is incredibly simple. Hold the button down to attack, 1-9 to cast your spells/skills or use items, if you've learned any, and vanquish entire hordes of enemies. It's satisfying, watching 2D corpses fly and loot drop, but there are bosses that make you pay attention too. I'm old, and slow, so simple gameplay works well for me.

I love the unique skill point system of having to explore and find ability orbs in the world to actually learn your special skills, whilst also having your crafting skills and background skills, like destruction magic, etc. level passively. This really incentivizes you to explore outside the quest direction and to complete puzzles for something meaningful.

The world is large with many many dungeons and explorables. Dungeons are filled with puzzles that are primarily based around finding different locations and objects, pulling levers and killing massive amounts of nasties. A large number of people seem to have locked themselves in rooms or accidentally stood on the wrong side of gates and that could perhaps use a bit of variety or some sort of school education system to stop this continually happening. Puzzles on the whole could do with being a bit more cerebral, but what's here does work very well and fits with the simple gameplay.

Gear is pretty straight forward but has some bonuses that make it worth collecting and making you decide if you want to be stronger, or level faster, or to choose between bonuses such as ice magic or earth, or defense. If I was going to fault the game, it would be the upgrades often don't feel particularly epic and most of my loot gets chucked at the vendors. On the plus side the sprites for the equipment are pretty cool. The graphics on the whole are a fun style and well done.

9th Dawn 3 has a deep nostalgic pull to me of older games that didn't mind making you work for your money, that didn't mind forcing you to grind, to make you explore for yourself, to make your own decisions about where to go next, to build your own character rather than googling for "most OP build this season" and of course, pay for your own mistakes as you make them. You won't find instant gratification here, but I have found it very satisfying overall.

Fantastic game with tons of stuff to do and a huge map to explore. Dev is very responsive. = This is digital crack worth double the price! Nominated for the labour of love award. 9/10

Here are my thoughts on 9th Dawn Remake and 9th Dawn III:

I found out about the game series by accident two days ago and I´m blown away.
Saw 9th Dawn Remake and really wasn´t sure wether I should get it or not. So I bought
9th Dawn III for a little more than 2 Euro an Steam-sale to find out if the series is any good.

After 12 hours of straight playing 9th Dawn III (I´m usually bored by games after 2 to 3 hours) I got to say
this is the best experience an most fun game in a very very long time and I haven´t even scratched the surface.
So I just had to buy 9th Dawn Remake to get the release sale deal. After trying the remake for 2 hours I´m just rubbing
my eyes. What an awesome game.

I´m so glad I found this series.
Huge recommendation on both parts.
I need to decide now which one to play first (wonder when this last happend to me?!)

A sprawling epic in a massive open world that encourages you to explore and take your own path. I've been watching this game develop for the last year or so and I am not disappointed at all!

Make your own class, build diversity is very solid, you can make an Elemental Tank Mage, or a Beastmaster that controls many pets at once. You can also be a healer for your team of minions, buffing and healing them as they tear up your enemy.

If you played 9th Dawn 2, this is a DRASTIC upgrade to that game.

HIGHLY recommended, this game is NOT getting the attention it deserves.

what is this game? in short "A low budget skyrim with pixel top down aesthetic"

Nowadays, its RARE to have a CRPG with top down Real Time Action Battle ala Diablo (mostly either turn based or RTS with pause)... especially a GOOD one ...

the last good game like this that I played is Divine Divinity and Beyond Divinity ... and now this game

you don't need to play the previous game as no continuity between sequel

When I said Skyrim or Elder Scroll like, what I mean is ::
- this game have very vast open world with lots of dungeons ... you can go everywhere you want to go ...
- vast array of skill, attributes, skills that you can perfected for 100%
- the battle is like diablo, real time action, killing dozens of enemies in one location every time ... and also randomize loot
- lots of other side activities to do like fishing, crafting, cooking, mining, etc
- lots of NPC that you can converse with ... not only giving you quest than done ... but still 90% of the game is about battle
- this game also a collectathlon, 100% every dungeon to gain upgrades
- lots of items to collect, creatures to capture, ability to unlock

if you love CRPG and battle ala DIablo ... this is your game
