Yup. I believe they are only one time though so kinda strange if a few are random? They might have interesting loot as well.
I hope they are not because it would be fun restarting a few dungeon runs :) All other monsters only drop same and boring loot. Maybe some have rare relics, amulets or rings as well!
I have for example fought two in one dungeon then restarted it 20 or so times without finding more.
To clarify: Not the whole dungeon of course but between two stairs for example, otherwise it's totally waste of time lol.
Yup just edited to tell I did not the whole dungeon. But for example between two stairs (fairly long way with a lot monsters).
Indeed after some testing there seem to be always 1 in one whole dungeon. For me itsn't worth doing if one dungeon is pretty huge. I stick to the idea that everything should be randomly respawned every time you restart one floor.
there like 3-5 if you clear the whole dungeon, you can simply run between 2 stairs and you'll see plenty.
It's just normal monsters a bit stronger who always drop a random item, not worth chasing after but you can still do it. Maybe it's worth it in the scorn of hell level to get uber catalysts and maybe items
But possible? Yes.
They are pretty random, but some do have special loot tables. A lot of monsters in the back of Smuggler's Den drop Ancient Spirit equipment, for example, which is very OP at the time you can farm it. Wolves and dark spiders seem to drop rings pretty commonly too, and I've actually gotten several Ultimate / Master Craft Rings from wolves in Bandit Hideout and Sinrock, over many playthroughs.
