That ONE where I won started with a close minor that I rushed, and it worked for once bc I hit a town on the way (7ish hexes from my starting city) and discovered a GR heavy tank that helped me seal the deal on killing that minor and taking their city to get a good early starting bump.
My issue is, sans such luck, it's hard to finish even a minor city off with the militia and ini. armies I build as they're mostly MGs and Inf. For clarity I also start with no counsel, no armies.
Playing it slow will get you there... (50-100 turns) but I'm trying to accomplish it at a pace that's competitive with whichever major is out there gobbling up territory left and right.. that's my rub.
For context I can win at these alike setting one difficulty level down... so it's like I'm too good for 2nd to hardest, but hardest hardest... not so much.
That term doesn't mean what you think it does Heh.
Yeah its kinda the opposite, someone chasing the dragon would be winning every time except the first / looking for the excitement they ha the first time.
Well said ;)
