The discord is the place to be for multiplayer (so I have heard). I havent played multiplayer myself but people enjoy it, and of course going up against real people is a great way to test yourself.
If anybody want to try out MP, here's the discord link:

Plays by different rules for balance purposes does not equal cheating.
Playing against real humans will provide a different challenge to the AI.
Would be pretty cool if we could cut off their supply lines like they do ours though.
But it is slower game. You can setup MP game with one other person in fast mode. But 4 players - nah. You will be lucky to have 1turn/day pace.
I'm a little disappointed that there isn't an in-game multiplayer system like other Slitherine games.
I dont think the game needs stuff like lobbys for 8 players etc since as you said the game is way to slow for that. - BUT even just the ability to play with 1 other player either as ally/enemy or just another faction on the map alongside AI factions would be awesome. I also understand that it is unlikely to happen since its a very small (1man ?) dev team but it would truly elevate the game to have a straightforward coop or versus mode. As I said for this purpose just a 2 player mode would be enough.
