So do ports just not transfer logistics?
I have 2 ports on each island, do I really have to pay the MTH every time to use them properly. I can make aircraft and heavy landships that are able to cross land but not a boat to cross water?

Yeah - currently for cross ocean logistics it’s either pay through the nose for MTHs or set up air bridges.

Ships are on the rough road map I believe. But for now you are stuck with those options.

so island hoping is an absolute nightmare. Got it

If I play a island map, I make sure I can make each bigger island its own zone (meaning with their own SHQ) and try to make them self sufficient. That helps a lot.

see, the "island" I have has more territory then my homeland. But I can't create a new SHQ. It's it's own Zone, but can't give it the ability to house it's own stuff. Not sure what I'm doing wrong

Why can't you raise a new SHQ? It costs only 10PP to raise under the "Raise Formation" menu?
Even without SHQ if the isle has enough metal then all it needs is to call the governor to stop sending resources to the SHQ, transfer some IP, build a few solar panels.

Small islands with a city, or without metal can work fine with a solar panel and a BP office.

Island hoping doesn't make much sense currently as contracts are not affected by range in a meaningful way. It only matters for airforce.
