Are intelligent aliens always super strong?
Have tried several tries now, with intelligent life on the planet. And it is almost impossible to get a start. The minor alien "nations" always suround me and than 2-4 of them start war. They always have super strong units compared to human. So is it supposed to be almost impossible?

I think it is another layer of difficulty that got added. Which general difficulty have you set, which tech level, which planet size?

The ones I last encountered were fairly strong early on, but didn't evolve or develop at all - I could pacify them via diplomacy until I got tanks and combat armor, then they were dead.

Just live while you get light tanks. Then crush all xenos. Biggest issue with sentient aliens is small overall human population on the planet.

Wait, you cant make the aliens work for the glory of your empire? You need to purge them? That wont fit well in my democratic, heart, commerce society...

You can also just coexist with them. But no, no multiculturalism.

It is possible to integrate alien minor regimes into your empire. They won't contribute anything on the economic side as far as I know, but you'll get all their troops.

Their strength varies greatly. In my current game, I've rolled over nearly a dozen of these regimes... you can integrate them and the fact they don't need supply makes them incredibly useful so it can be worth the diplomatic effort to convert some of them.
