Rad Treatment - how does it work?
I got:
City with RAD = 55
nearby hexes RAD=82 (metal mine her), RAD=62

inside city there is now: Rad Treatment I, which produce 99 Radiation Treatment Points

How does it work? Is it going to replace this radiation from hex? Is radiation in hex afectin anything in my zone?

5.2.3.1. EXPOSURE CALCULATION FOR YOUR UNITS

Any hex with an active asset reduces RAD by 400. So unless your city hex has RAD of over 400 you dont need any assets to deal with radiation for the populace. The hex with the metal mine is also protected.

In terms of your soldiers they receive RAD protection based on the amour (or being in a vehicle). In both cases they should be fine as long as they have an enivrosuit because they reduce RAD by 100.

The next few sections cover the actual effect. For troops its fairly minimal at level below 400 (moral reduction/readiness) but for the populace every level above 0 provides a happiness reduction. However as said - you are protected up to 400 RAD points as long as you have an active asset.

I dont think you can 'scrub' a hex clean of radiation, Rad Treatment just reduces the RAD points for X people. No idea if thats in the hex or zone or what.[/strike]

You need the Tech "Radiation Cleaning" to construct a facility if you want to clean all of your zones of radiation => 0 Radiation on all tiles. I have had a game where I had to clean tiles with more than 1k radiation with said facility. It is an advanced tech, it might take a while until you get there and the process is slow so you should build more than one. I had 2 and they did the job well. They randomly selected tiles in my territory (all zones) and cleaned the radiation step by step.

Rad Treatment Center I is a goverment building and not a Tech. This building is available right from the start (at least on TECH LV 4 where I started).

In general there are 3 radiation facilities that create the following points:

1. Goverment Building: Rad Treatment Center = Rad Treatment Points
I have to admit I have never used this building. If I had to guess it treats your population on a tile (City or Asset tile) if there is radiation on it since radiation impacts an assests productivity as well.

2. Logistics Building - Anti-Radiation Infrastructure = Rad Protection Points
This Building increases radiation protection on a tile. Units on that tile add it to their already existing protection. Simply said it moves the threshold at which your units start losing subunits/soldiers due to deaths.

3. Industry Building - Radiation Cleansing Facility = Rad Cleansing Points
This building simply cleanses your irradiated tiles over time. The higher the tier the more points it generates and the faster it cleanses your territories (all zones!)

That is my understanding about the 3 radiation facilties. Base radiation protection values of units are in the manual and tech dependant.
