Trojan Detected

Not sure if there is anything one can do about this, but a save game file came up as a trojan. If you allow it to pass through as a false positive, some might end up allowing the actual trojan to pass later.

I don't know, but something in the save file is triggering it. There could be a possibility that if you allow the save to come through, some systems might begin to ignore the actual trojan, which is not optimal. I would imagine that no proper security measure starts ignoring a type of trojan but allows a single file through as an exception, but you never know.

Had a player in one of my PBEM games also mention his anti virus picked something up. Might be something to do with the new update.

having PBEM game ongoing where two other players reported same after save. no errors to me so far.

i've had this issue in the past as well, it derailed a pretty enjoyable multiplayer session, it'd be great if this could be patched at some point.

You should complain to your malfunctioning anti-virus, not to the game developer who can't really do much about it. Not like there is a box 'do not make saves detected as a trojan to an unknown malware scanner' in his IDE.

Who's complaining, Captain Toxic? It's good for people to know, and it's even better for the developer to know.

Does any of the players have "share metrics" thing on? Maybe try to tick it off and see if that one is the culprit?

I have that enabled. I'll check with the person who sent me the save.

EDIT:
Correction, the sender changed their mind and said that they do have it enabled. This is something to look at for sure.

I cant even load into a game or make a new one. Is there a way to disable 'send metrics' in the files?

UPDATE: I fixed it by reinstalling Shadow Empire, then excluding it from my firewall. I then opened up a save game and clicked 'no' when asked to send metrics. Everything seems to work now even after removing the exclusion.

This really needs to be fixed. I don't know whether I have viruses/trojans, or whether it's the save files that keep giving me false alerts.
