Shadow Empire

Shadow Empire

Dev Console
If folks are still trying to figure out the Dev Console here are two main areas to go for help:

Select (ALL)
#132 Characters - In here you can manipulate all your leaders if you have dev console on - also on the leader themselves you can click their portrait to change it and their age while in this 132 editor you will be able to find all their stats - be careful of changing some of the columns as it can cause crash depending on the column (avoid changing the ones with the 200ish numbers as you may get a crash....test with saves).

#146 Regime Keys - here is the empire screen where you can change pop, credits, karma, fate, etc. You need to look for your own empire (I believe it is 4 at least mine was but there are others in there, so you can double check it with the stats from Democ, Autoc, Fist, etc. and compare it to your empire to be sure you are on the correct one.

Hope this helps those of you still attempting to find the simple credits fix or fatepoints or whatever....it was a pain in the rump to find the part that dealt with what I wanted to change.

how do you actually open the dev console?

I went to my install location changed userdebugger.txt to true
I'm starting the game and can't see anything different. ` or enter keys don't work
It's in MNG (top left corner of main map) -> Debug.
Nope - none visible
Messaggio originale di DancingWind:
Nope - none visible

just to be clear, after setting false to true in the debugger.txt and on turn one you couldnt find debug under the mng tab near the top mid left of the screen?

or were you looking for something within the debug menus? b/c thats a disaster so it would be faster to tell us what you were after and we might know
nothing new in mng tab.
I enabled the flag and I do see some debug thingies here and there. but not no list of ids or anything in mng.
I am running open beta
you need to be in the right library, and the right sublibrary, to get to the things you want to edit. this list is the most organization there is XD

take the trader section for example;

this image is from the first turn of my last run, from the top you see im under the mng tab, further right shows im under the debug tab which is right of blueprints, and bottom left shows im under library 12, sub library 190. if you cant see this in your game i have no idea what happened. couldnt figure out how to get the steam print screen working again so had to use something else.

activating debug mode

goto your install location and locate the file userdebugger.txt
open it, change false to true

unless the dev changes it, false is the only thing in here.

once in game, not at the start menu, you open MNG and goto the debug tab.

adding onto army stats

164 design id

must mod 165 & 294 to make changes stick
only mod 7 and 151, possibly only 151.

stat 4 = armour str, stat 7 = field xp, stat 151 = str design,
stat 8 = b design, stat 5 = weight, stat 2 = firepower,
stat 3 = engine power, stat 25 = engine design,
stat 26 = arm design, stat 27 = weapon design,

hp and soft/hard attack either not found in 165/294 or it doesnt match up to the shown #s

attempting to mod stats other then 7 and 151 set field xp to -200000000 something and i had no way of fixing it with the bit of testing i did. if someone can mod the stats without xp going insane then plz share. leaving 7 unmodded will give improvement over time, tested with maxing it didnt show any improvement on stats or i did it wrong / missed the change.

char feat / stats

each row is its own grouping, skipping the blank / unknown in between.

133 change char profiles, use char ids to locate and change character's profile support
1-3 = -3 to -1 and 4-6 = +1 to +3

135 skills, if they don't have a skill add a new row and include the information.
c1 char id, c2 skill id, c3 skill level

139 skill id

308 feat id, these are bonuses like the medal of honor or personal guards.

307 add feats, make sure they don't have it first XD
add new row, add char id and feat id.

Trader
get all of the IDs as expanding can cause some changes but zone id should always remain the same.

12 -> 188 //confirm trader creds to match region id//
12 -> 189 //match region id to zone id//
12 -> 190 // match region id to find items and prices//

14 - hi tech parts / 13 - machines / 4 - radioactives /3 - rare metals / 7 - food / 5 - Water / 2 - Metal / 8 - Fuel

Zone keys
when i modded worker # the game crashed when i tried to leave debug menu.

98
zone id under trade, only mess with happy, loyal, and militia #.

when modding the pop or militia numbers try not to set them too high. gave one city 9 mill pop and it was nearly destroyed me trying to supply them without cheating.

adjusting production / adding buildings

63 city/zone info
find zone id, city name, and hex cords

87 adding buildings
locate lower leveler buildings and change them instead of adding higher level versions.

add new row , zone id, asset type id, cords, production id(asset type id), asset id(add +1 to above #), building name, production(set to 100 to say its been paid costs), blank, upkeep paid last(set to 100), blanks, blank

86 adjusting production
edit quantity

84 upkeep
edit quantity

85 production cost
edit quantity

lib 83
Building IDs. this isn't everything, just what i thought players might use most.

dos and don'ts:
do check for lower levels before you add the higher levels and replace those.
don't add buildings above city level or multiple levels of each building type.
do basic subtraction to get the levels you need when lower than max.

Do you happen to know if there is a way to change the regime colors in the dev mode?

i cant remember finding something that does that but it might be possible as there's so much that can be edited mid run so its probably in there somewhere. not sure if its worth digging through the thousand or so lists to find it, if it even exists, and hoping it doesn't crash the game.

would probably be faster to just make a suggestion topic asking to change it in game.
or if they can tell you where it is XD

Yeah my thoughts exactly looking through the dev mode lists. Thought I'd at least ask in-case you knew the answer off-hand.

I've also made a few suggestions that never went anywhere. Then again, it's just Vic doing the programming.

Thanks!
Where do I add fate points? I looked through 146 and couldn't find anything matching what I currently have.

Also, same with portraits. I think I've changed everything in 132 but the portrait is the same.

fate points are further down, once you know what your # is you need to scroll down until you see it a 2nd time, it will be called fp. depending on luck it might be right under the first set of regime info.

140 is portraits but ive never messed with it
hello, sorry disturb here...but i look for during a long time for mod resources. I have find nothing. i test ALL TABLES, i test with cheat engine and nothing, someone can help please?

if you're referring to changing resources on the world map I've never found a way to do that. the best way so far to get a bunch of resources is changing what the merchant(trader keys, main lib 12, sub libs 188-190) for your zone has and setting the price to 1 then giving them a bunch more than you need and buying them with the credits you can give yourself under the regime keys(sub lib 146, it's no longer always 4).

now, to change a world resource it is possible with cheat engine but you need to be harvesting it so it changes each turn. You might get lucky on some of the resources being so high so there's only one result but most of the time there's a bunch of matches. I haven't played in a while but I think it was 4bit.

changing a salvage resource was impossible for me unless it has an artifact on it, mostly because I'm too lazy to deal with it, to tell you how much salvage remains.

I hope this helps, gl

Hu bro, thanks for ur answer. i can change credit and fate points, i can edit 2 000 000 000 (billions) hahaha but i dont understand for the resources....i understand nothing
have u discord or soemthing? just show u if u can?
editing trade relies on information from outside the trade libraries and if it wasn't the middle of the night when i replied i might have thought to mention that, my bad.

now, since I'm not sure if by resources you mean for trade or on map i will list the process for both.

trade menu:
the biggest downside to this is it needs to be repeated each time you start a new run or need a massive amount of resources as the price change throughout a run.

step one: click on the trade menu on the mid right of the screen, go to sell and see how many credits the merchant has.

step two: in the debug menu at the bottom left are the main libraries, click 12) SE_trade.

step three: to the right are the sub libraries / tables, open 188) trade regions and look for matching credits, this will give you your trade region id.

step four: open table 190) trade items and locate the matching id. next to the trader id is the item id, don't change these.

step five: change reserves and shop qty to 999999, then buy price to 1. anything under 1 wont be shown.

step six: close out and return to the trade menu on the right to buy what you need.

_________________________________________________

resource editing on the global map:
this can not be stressed enough, i have no idea how to do it through the debug menu and no one that does is sharing.

step one: locate the resource you need, this is mostly luck based on your spawn and i cant help you here. you should, at least normally, get water, oil, and metal in your starting area or near it.

step 2: build the required mining platform.

step 3: once built select the hex the resource is located on to see how much is actually there bottom right.

step 4: open up cheat engine, select the game process, and do a 4 byte search(default setting) for the number listed bottom right of the map screen.

step 5: if you don't want to wait for next turn you can do what i do, take all of the results, unless there's a over a dozen of them, and start changing them one by one.

this change won't be reflected in game until you tab back into the game and click on the hex with the resources again.

undo the changes that don't match the resource location just to be safe. changing too many things at once could cause the game to become unstable or crash.

this should be everything, good luck.
