And still devs say the game is complete.
I don't know of many strategy games where the AI doesn't play by its own rules.
it is no use, he trollin across the pages
Sad! but AI can never be perfect. hard to ignore when you have to go over your enemies main road which is ♥♥♥♥ and no resupply centers.
A train head costs only 1 turn to build and can transfer a lot of supply.
It is not trolling, it is just pointing a game which the last beta patch on steam is from several months ago and even the dev said he is working on another project.
I paid for a product which forces me to look to the screen for 30 minutes during turn passes on late game, on a 32gb computer, if i knew that before buying I wouldnt. If i knew that the issue would never be properly adressed, i wouldnt buy the game. I trusted the devs to adress some critical issues with the game, they didnt.
And the only way to make the AI pose a real challenge is to let it cheat (a lot) and even giving extra and extra time for it to think, as if 30 minutes per turn was already not a lot.
And now the post (someone else´s) which complainned about the current state of the game was censored.
Well, thats not trolling, thats genuine complaining.
As is his right. You bought a product, as it existed at the time of purchase, that's what you are entitled to, nothing more. You aren't entitled to a lifetime of updates.
Caveat emptor applies. It is you responsibility to make sure you buy a product which fits your needs.
Note also that long turn times, aside from being common to a lot of wargames (ever player an AGEOD game?) and 4x games (even light 4x-like games like Total War suffer from it), were reported by reviewers.
Virtually every strategy or 4x game does this, because algorithms that can handle the complexity of a system like your average strategy video game without cutting corners while still offering a challenge take more time and resources to develop than consumers care to pay for.
Note also that the rules differences between player and AI are listed in section 5.18 of the manual, which is freely accessible.
Mind you, the trolling accusation is less about the substance of your criticism, than the tone of it and the manner in which you conduct yourself in here. As the customer you are right to want the best, including fast AI turns and the option for a challenging opponent, but the fact you completely disregard reason and use hyperbole and childish language to convey your point is what hurts your credibility.
I can only speak for myself, but I don't want "a lifetime of updates". I want a game that is finished. I think you're missing the point.
A lot of people, myself included, bought this game with the hope at least that it would be finished eventually. It is in fact disappointing that the developer seems to have sidelined it to do something else. This game still has a lot of potential.
It wasn't a cheap game but I was willing to put my money down for this developer. Niche games, like niche products, will never be cheap. However, that observation has no relevance whatsoever here. When you have a developer pushing new features that introduce new bugs instead of polishing existing features and fixing existing bugs, or just halting work on an unfinished product entirely, one is entitled to their disappointment.
Take a look at Starbound.
If you're not disappointed in Shadow Empire, well I envy you.
When a game is in early access, it says so very clearly in the store page. This game was not.
