That's an interesting way to respect borders....
So a minor faction just very aggressively pushed into my territory, forcing me to send a large portion of my military to hold the border. A couple turns later they send a message asking me to respect the border....

How about no? They might as well have begged me to attack them :undyne:

Loving this game.

Relations must be 35+ for a nation to respect your borders. Meritocracy above 40 gives you covert ops startagem improve relations. One or two applications, and bam, no need for border guards.

minors also fear tanks. A group of 9 light tanks will clean that up, all of it.

Oh yeah I know, I am rolling over them with light tanks as we speak, I found it hilarious they did that.

Finding it less hilarious that my SHQ general decided to lead a militia unit from a different city on the border when he should have been leading the HQ.... but whatever.

For me, minors take my territory constantly, but when I try to retake that same hex/area I get warning message about "war declaration" if I try to take territory.

Shouldn't it cut both ways?

They had not declared war on me when they started taking ground so I had to send so many troops just to keep them from expanding anymore. I think maybe the ai saw all my troops on "their" border and thought I was going to attack them or something.

ntil you are establishing diplomatic contact, borders are fluid with all but the major regimes, as these have an established government just like you and are wary of you.

The minors will ignore your territorial claims, that is your hexes, unless you

a) go to war with them attacking their units , then they reevaluate their cohesion and need to go after you after you sent them some heads back without body,

b) play the 5PP Propose Peace stratagem on them and establish formal contact and a border from now on or

c) a minor faction wants you to establish formal contct with them and you recognizing their border via a national decision. This can boost one or two of your profiles.

I just stabilize my border by planting MG infantry in strategic locations. Once I get the diplo cards i pick which minors to stall and mop up the others. I usually play on Medusa worlds so with all the native wild life i just spam MG infantry and create a picket. Then reinforce which ever sector the beasties or nomads start pushing. For minors with governments I always picket the border. but borders with nomads tend to be very fluid until I get tanks

I dont have spy council in this game, so the card must come from general generic pool of cards thats generated every turn by supreme command council. I dont have foreign affairs coucil here either.

Plea of friendship is a faction stratagem. You need Meri 40+ and the Accomplished envoys and a happy meritocracy faction.

P. 246 manual.

Uh... ok, but that's not something that can be used to end war.
I was hoping there is something that can end the hostility with minor, but as far as I can see while "Propose peace" theoretically can do that, it's difficulty is 999, and it looks like that can never succeed(currently it says Oratory skill roll=1d100+103, which as far as I understand means max. of 203 vs. 999
