I prefer dry Limos class, since I believe that while life is very rare, humans would avoid planets that are terrible to live on... although having those options is great.
"It is rare, but possible they host an Alien biology with non water-based type of life."
I would like to see the 'rare' setting be adjusted up to allow for such things; (ex: Arrakis & worms) or at least an option to do so for one's enjoyment.
Per a user in the Matrix forums;
I've got a Seth planet currently with a grass analog, and supposedly a herbivore (not seen it yet). So it is possible.
Quite nice actually, it's a red and green planet
Is that guy on the latest beta patch? It's now possible to share planet seeds.
Interesting, as I am unaware of the 'map seed' addition.
There was talk of it, but due to the multiple screens involved in the planet generation process, it has not been implemented yet. (or so I think)
I am using the latest beta 4 patch & do not see where that is an option.
Of course...missing something is not that hard, for me, to do. :)
In another post they edited that it was cerberus, which in my first follow up reply is likely what they meant seeing they edited this post...
https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=4826169
Cerberus is a lava planet, but between 40 degrees (best) to 45 (worse but gets life), around 1 gravity, and earth-like atmosphere, despite 0 water at all no rain and magma everywhere...I guess its just barely cool enough to support moss/grass if you regen the biome enough. One of the cerberus I generated even had roaming tiny herbivores supposedly, but never saw them.

Also the magma rivers are going through grass and moss :P
I think around 5+ billion there are no magma / lava pools.
Yup, I got that one gen (so far been having a lot of fun just seeing what I can generate lol). The whole planet however was blue instead of green and had actual meadows, but no magma.
14-15 real life continuous hours (thats not counting the breaks in between) since game launched. Not a single hint of life. Problem is oxygen never generates, and unlike Cerberus which gets oxygen to support life, Seth never does.
So I've come to a realization that I wasted more than half a day on something not possible what so ever.
Never been so disappointed :( Makes me not want to play tbh. Not specifically because of Seth, but because of the insider joke/prank. Hopefully in the future there is more planet customization.
At the beginning of this video is where he mention it : https://youtu.be/V6woAZv4vn8
People said they've seen one. No ones shown a picture or shared their game of one. I find it hard to belief it exists after trying for 15-16 hours over and over and over and over trying to get a seth world to generate worms. I still think its an inside joke to get people to waste their time generating it.
I think boreus or whatever cold planet is named the same as seth, no life at all. I've had 0 temp and pretty warm cold planet and life also never showed up, but I haven't spent nearly as much time on that one as trying to get seth to get life.
That or its a bug in my world generation game that only effects me and a small group of people who can't generate life on certain planets.
Biggest planet size (bigger has better chance of life)
Oldest planet age (oldest has better chance of life)
roughly 25-40 planet temp (it was 25-30 roughly, but the magma world has life at 40-43 planet degrees so that means life can appear at pretty warm planet temps)
around 1 gravity
Earth-like atmosphere (tried heavy atmosphere and didn't seem as good)
so many times just not possible anymore. I'm guessing if dastactic got it before, that something changed since then.
