As the title says. I've looked everywhere for a solution. In walkthroughs online, they simply beat the boss up without doing anything special, and he never cast this instant-full-heal spell. But for me, he does it every time he's at around 60% health. Basically I'm stuck without a way to purge him. And no, restarting to go into necromancy for that one ability with purge is not a solution. I've been looking carefully through weapons and items, and there are no purging weapons/items, either. This is incredibly frustrating cause purge was abundant in the main campaign and soul harvest.

Please help. I really want to like this game but it's super annoying me.

Hi. I figured it out.

The only "solution" is DPS. His OP healing is on a timer, not based on remaining life. If you damage him enough, you will out-damage his healing.

Reload a previous save, respec for damage, then come back.
