Do you have to play a troll?

I enjoyed the previous SpellForce game, Soul Harvest. But I don't like trolls and have hesitated to buy this game because just can't see myself identifying with a troll in an RPG. Is there any way to play this game as a human or anything except a troll?

Yes, you do have to play the troll. I used to be sceptical about this decision. But the Trolls in this games are the best characters in spellforce series. They are not just crush 'em all! dumb bastards, the developers managed to make them alive, with their own feelings, culture, traditions, emotions, sorrows and fears. You should try that, but yes, it's all about the trolls

I also had reservations about whether or not I would be able to identify with the characters. I was quite wrong, I found them sufficiently developed that I found it very easy to identify/sympathise with them.

Personally, I think this is the best Spellforce campaign with the best main characters out of the whole series so far, and I've always hated the trolls.

I came here to check if the trolls were believable characters, as i always wanted to play a troll but its hard to persuade a gm to let you do that.
