Great game completely ***ruined*** by being locked out of the final battle
There was a lot to like about this game. In particular, the story and characters were probably the best of the Spellforce series, and I was actually attached to them. The gameplay (level design, loot, skill trees) was a big step back from Spellforce 3 and Soulharvest, but certainly good enough to be fun.

I really cannot abide the design decisions made in the ending scenarios though. Every Spellforce (even every RTS) has a final, pivotal major battle. Fallen God should have been no different, in fact the narrative for the last half of the game was building to a major battle.

Instead, my ending sequence consisted of running down a forest path for a few minutes slaughtering a few token groups of enemies, then downing an easily dispatched final "boss" that was probably the least impressive boss in the whole Spellforce series. When I finished, I thought there was no way that could be the end of the game. Checked youtube and found that the game *does* have the expected final battle, it's just locked behind a dialogue tree (and I'm locked out of it with no way to play it despite saving before the major "choice" because Noag had an extra point in self-reliance).

This is completely unacceptable and quite frankly ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ to lock the pivotal battle of the game and a huge piece of content behind a dialogue tree where you can easily get completely locked out of the choice. The game barely had any decent-sized RTS battles to begin with . . . most of them had the training wheels on. It would be one thing to have different but equivalent ending sequences. I'd be fine if one path had a big "traditional" battle, and the other path had a large "defense" mission where you have to hold out for a certain amount of time and then get overrun for storyline purposes. But again, to play a lengthy game like this and just have nothing happen at the end because of some dialogue choices is complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

This is probably the most ripped off I've felt by a game, not monetary-wise because I don't really care about that, but in terms of investment of time vs. payoff.

Looks like you got the "evil" ending. Next time teach Noag to be kind and caring for the tribe and you will the the "good" ending RTS final battle mission.

You were told right at the beginning that your choices matter.
Also, that was probably the best boss fight in the series even if it wasn't too great, the "bosses" and final fights in previous games were a complete joke IMO :x

Actually, that's a very nice feature, completely different missions, depending on your decisions. Great idea!

This. On that note, better than Rondar '10 seconds' Lacaine and the game of patience with Shaoig-waves-already-Ded for sure.

The game is basically an inspiration from CRPG so this is really by design.

if It is only one point difference or two you just have to redo the masked godess temple and pick something else when Noag wants to go for his father, if you are tied in lone tusk and shield of the tribe(6-6 by ex), the chieftain picks the ending.

So, do you want for your choices to matter or not?

I would say the last rts battle is too cool to deprive the player like that, only by dialogue choices, considering that if you think about it all the side quests that you did, you did for the tribe theoretically.
You shaped Noag by those choices at least they could do is let you accept the pact even with a ton of lone tusk points.

I would understand that forced ending choices if the story would branch out more towards the end that would make sense, but like this in my case I had to basically replay the last 3 missions same content only difference was picking a few dialogue lines differently.

Except one path has a mission and the other path doesn't. It would be a good feature if they both had missions. This game is too long to have a premature cutoff "bad end." That's the domain of visual novels, not RTS games.

both endings have a separate mission though.

Yes, one is an RTS and one is an escort RPG lite, no?

OP is right, i felt ripped off to, lack of a final battle ruined this game for me, i was getting all the upgrades finding all the secret items and what not.... and then cuz of some dialog choice i don't get a final battle.... also their is no option to say f it i'm going to take them head on! no final battle nothing but a ok boss fight that wasn't a challenging...

Its hilarious how players are butthurt over choices having consequences.

Now you have a reason to play the game again in a different way.

Multi ending games do not get erased from your HDD the first time you complete them.

Besides, which ending is the "good" ending and which ending is more "canon"?
