But yeah, changing resolution every 5-10 minutes is annoying and ruins an otherwise fun and engaging game. I've simply not found any fix for it that works. I've tried:
Tabbing out for a few seconds
Setting flip queue size to 1
Using one core
Forcing resolution/fixed FPS in launch options
None have worked.
- deactivate AA in game
- install software "radeon pro preview 1.1.1.0" :
* make profile for protoype2.exe
* in "tweak" :
vsync control : always ON (double vsync)
dynamic framerate control : 30 fps max
* in "advanced" :
flip queue size = 1
- right button on profile's name and "apply now"
- play game normaly
i have constant 30fps with i5 2500 + radeon 7950 1920x1080
before this : must do alt+tab all 5/10min because become too slow
I run Win 7 (64bit) on an i7 3770 with 16GB RAM and a GTX 460, game ran from an SSD.
The problem may lay in the graphics card itself. I had few AMD cards and I always had display errors (colors missing, desktop bugs) and half of the games were running terribly slow.
I'd say, if you want to play this game with decent speed, buy a GeForce GPU ;).
Might be memory leak, but I'd still say that it's mostly because of the AMD card.
90% of the games right now still perform way better with Nvidia GPUs ;).
AMD makes great & powerful CPUs but as far as GPUs goes, they're still in the stone age :P xD.
