The main difference is the story (I know you don't care, but it's worth mentioning anyway). The first game has a terrible story (and terrible V/O) in my opinion. The second game's story actually makes sense.
Not really. Prototype 1 doesn't explain much of anything. It doesn't even explain its own plot.
Story's about the same length from what I recall.
I remember both of them only taking about 8-ish hours.
It needs a sound equalizer patch then you have to make sure you don't have extra USB devices then you have to make sure your sound is setup for like 96000hz or less.
Prototype 1 just doesn't work well with modern OS/hardware.
Although I prefer Prototype 1 in part because I share the same first name of the protagonist and I like that you have to earn your powers and don't just start with everything.
It gives you something to look forward to, obtaining/upgrading your powers.
EDIT: Didn't relize how long ago OP was. I looked at last post and thought I was ok. Bet the OP already bought one or both. My bad.
The second one is OK, but the hives randomly re-spawning etc, started grating on my nerves a bit, when I just wanted to run around the city killing innocent people.
They felt like more of a barrier than a meaningful part of the game.
