In 2019 some alleged photos of early Prototype 3 screenshots were leaked, which if true means it was in the works before Activision dismantled Radical Entertainment.
I doubt think this franchise will ever be resurrected.
It's sad about that with Radical because I think Prototype 2 is greater than Prototype 1 in almost every way, except for the pacing of acquiring certain upgrades, which isn't too bad because of the new abilities/evolution. The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction and Crash Tag Team Racing are also fun games I enjoyed by them.
I think the franchise could be brought back, if it is done by another company. Maybe Microsoft will have influence on this. Maybe not...
