Copied and pasted from other posts. This worked on 3 of my PCs to play the Dead Rising and Agents of Mayhem games.
1) Get “x360ce.App-2.1.2.191.zip” (a quick google search will find it).
2) Extract the “x360ce.exe” out of the zip folder. Then copy/move it into your Prototype 2 folder (default path is C:/programfiles(x86)/steam/steamapps/common/Prototype 2).
3) Plug in your Xbox One Controller.
4) Run “x360ce.exe”.
5) Click yes when it asks to create each missing file.
6) Next, a box should come up saying “New Device Detected – Controller (Xbox One for Windows)”. In this box the options “Search Automatically for Settings” and “Search the Internet” should both already be selected. Click next.
7) A search result should come up for Prototype 2. Click Finish.
8) In the bottom right corner click Save, then close the application.
9) In your Prototype 2 open up “x360ce.ini” which should have been created. In this file find where it says
[InputHook]
HookMode=1
And change it to
[InputHook]
HookLL=0
HookCOM=1
HookSA=0
HookWT=0
HOOKDI=1
HOOKPIDVID=1
HookName=0
HookMode=0
10) Now save the ini file and close it.
11) Right click game on steam list, goto properties, set steam input per game to Forced Off.
12) Restart computer- I've found that the changes wont take effect if the game has been loaded into memory once already.
My right joystick fires off all the triggers and bumpers, and there's no real way to calibrate the analog sticks.
Activision should be ashamed that such a simple thing that should be in their game is so broken and so impossible to work around
