PROTOTYPE 2 GAME FIX - IT WORKS 100% <3

GUYS! I finally managed to solve the problem of the Prototype 2 not working. Here's a quick guide on what to do to make it work :)

You must download 2 things

- https://drive.google.com/file/d/1sdg8jB0engjShe2Ju9bb-eb0a_RZq2fJ/view

When You will download it, paste the files to the game folder on steam
For me it's - D:\games\Steam\steamapps\common\Prototype 2

Before You will start the game go to WINDOWS START BUTTON go to RUN type MSCONFIG click OK

Then type BOOT go to ADVANCED OPTIONS unchecked the NUMBER OF PROCESSORS click OK click APPLY

Next go to DEVICE MANAGER and search for HUMAN INTERFACE DEVICES
Then disable all HID-Compliant Consumer Control Device (DON'T UNINSTALL)

I don't understand in part 2 when you say "unchecked the NUMBER OF PROCESSORS", what i have to do?

This post could definitely do with some more details;

1: Download 2 mystical files from someone's google drive...yeah...

2: Uncheck number of processors...? I assume you mean uncheck all but the main CPU?
Also for this to work you would have to restart your computer after checking and selecting 1....hence the name of the tab you click(not type) named "boot".

3: Without HID enabled, you won't have keyboard, mouse or gamepads....so how about some details here also...additionally, some have alot of HID's registered.

Thanks for trying though, hope you can flesh out a bit :)=

1: IT'S NOT A VIRUS... I play with that files and my game doesn't crash....

2. I unchecked them click OK and then my game works. After launching a game you can check this processors again and game will work also

3. Disable all HID-Compliant Consumer Control Device (DON'T UNINSTALL) -- All means all, it's working for me also ;)

yeah, no, still doesn't work for me.

Edit: Ok now did seem to work for me.

I copied the files from the first link (don't see why I should copy german audio files) and replaced the originals.
In Task Manager, clicked on Steam.exe and set Affinity to CPU0-3.
Disabled "HID-compliant consumer control device" entries.

I could start the game now and see the cutscene. Let's see how far the game let's me play.

i had to do all the optimisation needed, i was stuck in the first missions.
so , i unstall my game in russian , start a new game , play until the end of the problematic mission. put back my game in english with this patch (my game still russia for steam)
and now its playable .
hope my comment can be profitable for someone

Updating Executable is the only thing that i see when i try to start

weirdly this error appears now with Just Cause 2 and you need to replace some files there, I think that could be a connected issue with steam or something
