Prototype 2 freezes when the first mission starts
So basically, I launch the game, new game, skip all cutscenes, go to the mission, then that mission gives me an objective and as I get on the objective the game freezes. I can still hear the audio the fps is showing upper left corner and is still moving smoothly but idk what causes it to crash

I have the same issue and can't even refund the game. If someone knows the solution i would highly appreciate it.

I tried the CPU core assignment, reg key change.
If someone maybe has a savegame from after the mission i could try that as well!

Same problem. I am still finding the solution for the crash of the first mission. In fact, I have CD ROM of this game but I installed the game from steam. I will uninstall the game and use CD ROM to install and see what the problem is

There are suggestion for you to solve the problem, but I don't know whether it is really helpful for you or not. However, it solved my problem as same as the title.

1. Open your ''Device Manager'' of your computer
>>>>> Choose ''Human interface Device''
>>>>> Disable all of the ''HID-compliant consumer control device''

2. Then Open the ''task manager'' of your computer
>>>>> Choose ''detail'' then choose and right click the ''Steam.exe''
>>>>> Choose ''set affinity''
>>>>> then you will find there are so many CPU
>>>>> try to reduce the CPU (You have to test by yourself, but I just choose the CPU 0)
(It's seems the would crash, if you choose so many CPU)

3. I set my Screen resolution to 1920x1200

4. before i open the game and i will not limit the FPS of the game and disable the Vsync of the game.

For me, there was lagging and freezing for a while at first. I kept patient and waited a little bit, and the game run normally again.
