Why is this still for sale?
It seems pretty scummy to continue to sell an early access game, and even put it in the spring sale, when you've already stated the game is basically abandoned.

Warning to anyone looking into buying this like I was today. The game will never come out of EA and will not be getting any meaningful updates from now on.

They are in preparations for a manner of "preservation" for their games. What that entails, we don't yet know. My guess is either offline compatibility or letting us self-host to play indefinitely without need of paying for servers.

They recently moved into a new studio and are preparing a "new" game this Fall (unfortunately one that is likely just their previously-cancelled game Child of Cooper, based on SteamDB and Youtube) so it's possible they'll try to trickle-support BoT over the years as they did to Meadow.

I see your post from December:

This is exactly what I was afraid of.
I had this game in my wishlist for a while and just came back to check on it because of the sale.

This is exactly why I don't buy early access. Super disappointed.

Thanks!

Also it looks like a mod locked your post where you were providing updates on the game today? Sad.

Thank you for making this post. I've been keeping an eye on the game since...the last year or so? Haven't paid much attention since the combat rework. Was trying to see why the game is mixed for recent reviews which led me here.

Super disappointing, I can't think of much else like it.

They should drop the price if anything and make it chapter based. At least give people a reason to not feel like they're risking much to check it out. There's nothing hopeful to make people believe that it will be worth the current price it's at.

If they do make it so that you aren't online with others anymore I hope they change how the puzzles suggesting more players pitch in work. Hosting private games with friends to explore and roleplay in wouldn't be so bad, but still isn't at all matching the scope of the game intended so shouldn't be such a discouraging price.

It actually did come down a bit (from 33,99 to 29,99 regular price in € for example), but I agree that that´s still too expensive.
