There's a lot of mystery to the lore, so even if it's left unfinished, it kinda just fits?? But there's multiple novels' worth of writing to unveil in every individually-written item card, and even an official lore website that includes stuff not currently explained much in-game. There's the RNG encounters and the static weekday based events, and still a few things players haven't even actually bumped into or figured out yet. There's the roleplay-centric style, with lotsa write-in fields and of course the in-game journal (tho the vibe really does just beg for you to hand-write it IRL). Once combat is fixed, and especially if cooking somehow still gets added in (doubtful but who knows), I dare say the game would be mostly acceptable, even if I'll still forever dream of stuff like pets, personal boats, music-playing, and children.
Progress has been extremely minimal since EA launch, they have gone through 2 different teams and are now back down to a skeleton crew with no concrete plans on offer.
The day may come where you have the option of buying the game just to see what they got done vs. missing your chance, but I don't think we're there yet. If you can find a way to enjoy this game in its current state then you can undoubtedly do the same for a different game that isn't stagnating.
I think that tells me pretty much everything I needed to know.
But I gotta admit - @Mister Wekonu's post kind of reminded me why I was so interested in this game all this time ago. Well, I think I'll just wishlist it again and hope for some new updates in the future (altough I've just read the latest news from the studio and I guess it doesn't look promising at all, does it?).
Anyway, thanks for the answers guys, I really appreciate that!
