(I was only able to read the comments with your link now, since the link to discuss under the original post isn´t working, strangely)
FWIW The broken link seems like a Steam issue -- the Studio posted the announcement under the main M&D community, and Steam pushed it to the community hubs for each individual game, but Steam doesn't seem to know how to route people from each hub back to appropriate discussion. I was never able to get to the discussion without a direct link.
That steam issue is maybe helpful for MaD in this case, I can imagine there might be more negative comments otherwise. Generally I think they´re lucky to have such a well-meaning and wholesome community, I suppose the backlash would have been much worse with other games´ communities. That´s partly also why I´m still here, even though after that update post I sadly have little hope for redemption for the game or the studio itself.
To reiterating though, I still don´t regret buying it; i enjoyed my time before the inventory update, though I had stopped playing a while prior to that, due to lack of content or rarity of occurnace. I´m certainly not willing to play hundreds of hours, repeating the same tasks over and over to maybe catch some "rare event" eventually.
