Now that you've tried it a couple times with no result, you might want to close down Steam and start fresh.
Also worth checking the Store Page to confirm you're using a supported OS.
Just to try to pinpoint where the issue is occuring, here are the steps <EDIT: THis is how it works on Windows.>
- press the green PLAY button in steam Library,
- The Book of Travels Launcher appears (should be colorful). Click the big blue Play button.
- The "BookOfTravels Configuration" (Unity Launcher) appears -- less colorful window with a few settings. Press "Play!" button.
- Actual game launches
Are you getting stuck after Step 2, or after Step 3?It sounds like Unity is not launching properly. I'm doing some googling to see if I can figure out of that is a common issue.
It might also be worth going to your Library, Right-clicking, going to "Manage" err, "Properties" in the drop-down, then clicking "Local Files" and "Verifying the Integrity of game files" on Steam. It may even be worth Un-installing and Re-installing Book of Travels to see if this is some kind of issue with the install.
I should clarify, what they've said is that the beta is only available for 64 bit mac. For example, in project update #83:
I don't know if this leaves open the possibility that support could be added down the line.
My best guess right now is that this is either a file integrity issue, or a permissions issue.
If file integrity, i'd say try verifying file integrity, and/or reinstalling the game.
If permissions, try going to your "Security and Privacy" settings inside your Mac's System Settings -- do you see any notification that Book of Travels was prevented from running? If so you can try to allow the program to run from that menu, I think.
