i'm having the same problem.
Solution please?

have you tried running it in windows compatible mod such as xp because the game was really designed for xp and under operating systems.

What operating system are you trying to run ACFB on?
You say that your mouse is unresponsive. Does that mean you can see your cursor but it doesn't move? Or is your cursor invisable and you canot get it to appear?
What resolution is your laptop's monitor running? What resolution is the external monitor running?

how do you run it on windows compatable? because mine doesnt work either and i have windows 7...

You can see the cursor, but it doesn't move. My laptops resolution is 1600x900. I dont know what an external monitor is...

Do you use a wireless mouse? The games of the CDV collection (American Conquest, Cossacks and such) are having issues with wireless mice. It either slows down the game or completely gives you no response at all.

No I don't use a wireless mouse. I use a razer deathadder 3.5G, but thanks for the answer

Right click on the DMCR.exe and open properties and try switching the windows mode like Nelso suggested.

my mouse wont move either, what should i do...

What happend is basically when you installed the game your anti virus blocked some of the features of the game. This happens quite often, but is many times easy to fix suchs as, a replacement DMCR.exe, remove the Video folder, or many different possibilities. Currently the biggest American Conquest related club is The Hawks' Gaming club - http://www.mastersofthefield.com/ which I am from, so please post your problem in the technical support there and we can help you.

I don't see whats wrong i play mine on a laptop with a mouse and it works great
HWK_Atsa Feb 18, 2013 @ 9:00pm
If you reinstall the game it should work, just make sure your anti virus isnt blocking it.

Hello,

I had the same problem with my laptop and found a (tricky) tutorial that worked.

Here is a link : https://imageshack.us/a/img4/7223/tutorialcopy.jpg

I hope it will help you !

Config:

OS: Windows 7 Professional (Service Pack 1)
CPU : Intel Core i7-2677M
GPU : integrated Intel HD graphics
RAM : 4 GB
if this helps, watch this video and do the same thing only this time, do it for american conquest.
it worked for me.

This worked for me. Another user posted it...really. I tried inserting some other exe file and that didn't work. I couldn't see screen, or I couldn't move cursor. This is sortof a hack but the process did work for me.:

I would like a more permanent fix though :)
