How to play AC - FB

I played this game back in the day but I had no clue and just cheated my way thru.
Now 10 years later I easily figured that it's kind of a broken game isnt it?

I just played a couple of factions like almost all the natives and I feel like its pretty much a spam game.

With default values on starting resources, mines, peasants and peacetime (5-10min)
I'd always go for fast eco aka infinite peasant creation with all techs for food, wood and peasant creationtime. Natives like Haida boom extremely well and do not seem to have major weaknesses because: more peasants = more warriors(peasants cannot be captured and shoot arrows)/more resources = more peasant buildings + more warrior buildings.
As long as you keep pumping them out the stronger they get.
Also Tradingposts will get you free gold and trading is very powerful to get the resources you need instantly

Which makes Pueblos eventually the strongest early game faction.
Pueblos just need their Fortress/Town which cost alot of stone but with the tradingpost you will be able to get the 2nd Fortress in about 8-15 mins. They can spam decent archers and shooters very quickly while other factions still need some build up time. After the 2nd Fortress they will fall off tho imo. You have limited pop, cant get more than 260 peasants and you just have 2 buildings to pump warriors while other natives starting to get bigger and bigger. The 3rd Fortress will cost 3.000.000 STONE and wood. It just not affordable in time.

Considering this the Maya, Aztek and Inca seem very weak. Stone is a major resource for them to get more warriors out and they dont have trading so it takes very long on default to get some fortresses going for them therefore I feel like they cant compete with anyone really.

What do you guys think about this? Am I playing the game wrong or did I overlook something?



Yesterday I played as Iroquis and I got my ass spanked by Sioux cav charges and some euro invaders. I was about to surrender but then I just relocated my base and focused on just building peasant buildings and just spammed my way to victory.
