Fix for windows 10

If you go into your steam directory and find American Conquest (will proberly look like this):

D:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\American Conquest - Fight Back

You want to rightclick the program called "dmcr" and select proberties. Then select the compatbility tap and chose "Windows XP (service pack 2)".

Then you should be good to go :)

It looks like it work with the sounds, but I still have the black screen problem, do you know anything about that? thanks in advance

Sadly no, this fixed my black screen problem. Maybe try out some of the different service packs. Have you tried to run the game as a administrator through your steam folder instead of using the steam client?

My problem is that the Game runs a way to fast and the enemies flying over the map. When i try to adjust the settings in the campain the game closes immediately. Same when i try it in the main menu and start a campain after that.

Hey Anubis,
Don't know if you're still curious but I had the same issues as you and figured out a way around it. In the main menu go to options and change the game/scrolling speed to whatever you prefer, then exit the game before you try starting a match. Once you reopen it the settings should be what you changed them to and you should be able to play the game. It worked for me
