(and the tear stat is not that great as a trade of)
You should notice the difference now, but it ought to be even more obvious if you used mods which improve elemental attacks.
- Carja Hunter Bow
- Carja Mighty Bow
- Nora Longshot Bow
- Banuk Culling Bow
All of them but the Banuk Culling Bow need 6 fire arrows to enable the fire status fully built-up. The Banuk Culling Bow only needs 3 fire arrows to do the same.
It's pretty normal for the 3 first bows as they have a 13 Fire Effect, so you need 6 arrows to meet the 75 fire severity threshold for this kind of machine.
According to me, the Banuk Culling Bow has an hidden stat : Fire Effect of 25 at least (but less than 38) so you can meet the 75 threshold with three fire arrows.
Lastly, I tried adding two blue fire modifications (for a total of 56% improvement) :
All of them but the Banuk Culling Bow need now 4 fire arrows to enable the fire status fully built-up (which is logical as the 13 Fire Effect is increased up to 20, as displayed, thanks to modifications).
The Banuk Culling Bow now only needs 2 fire arrows to do the same (still not show a Fire Effect stat, but it presumably became 39 with modifications if 25 initially).
So even if the Fire Stat is not shown for the Banuk Culling Bow, it does exist and apply (for something like 25, maybe 30, need more tests with modifications to be more accurate) and the idea that this bow is doing Tear damage instead of Fire is wrong.
NB: I used theorycraft from https://horizon.fandom.com/wiki/Damage to understand how Severity Threshold was working.
So, it looks like they were all buffed to match the fire effect of the Banuk Culling Bow for the Remaster, and the original version of the game was patched to reflect that as well?
The Banuk Culling Bow STILL doesn't list any fire effect stat, so I can't be 100% sure whether they match exactly, but it would seem that they are a lot closer now.
