Trying the use Silent Strike on a Thunderjaw.
I don't seem to get the option for a silent strike on the thunderjaw. I get "override" but not silent strike. So far I have been able to use this attack on everything I've tried including some of the big animals. So what gives on the Thunder guy.

Sure way to get yourself killed trying that. Best to sit back and take off their weapons first then use their heavy guns against them.

The skill says its for small and medium machines. Thunderjaws, as well as fireclaws, stormbirds, behemoths, rockbreakers, and deathbringers are large. The skill won't work on them.

Yep, Stormbirds are a pain. I will add those others that you mentioned to my list of "treat with care"

Why on earth did you want to silent strike Thunderjaw? Even if you can, It will kick your ass after you silent strike it lol
gfdublin May 17, 2021 @ 12:22pm
How do you know it will kick my ass? It certainly might, but if I can't try it who really knows. ... well then again the programmer would know. LOL I was unaware of the small/medium animals limitation. I did "override" a ThunderJaw but never did see just how that was any help. As I tried to kite other aggressive animals into his field, they ran away before getting close enough to get the TJs attention. Except for the Broadheads, they did chase me into the TJs circle of influence and he proceeded to stomp them into scrap. One stomp, one dead Broadhead. I suppose if there were two TJs (and in many places there are), I could override one and let the two of them fight it out. I might try that.

On the storm birds, time them up with the rope caster until they drop and then whip out your spear and let them have it. I've tried plunking away at them without any great success.

Storm birds:
- shoot a few Tear arrows in its belly while hovering, to detach its lightning bolt generator
- use shadow ropecaster to tie it down and bring it to ground
- do not immediatelly use spear, its a waste of time
- use coupe of tears to expose blaze and freeze canisters
- using fire and freeze arrows, ignite the canisters and let them explode
- if the bird frees itself tie it up again
- one all canisters are exploded, the bird will be left with about 10% HP, just finish it off, spear or high damage arrows, if you left freeze canister explosion as lest, it will be more vulnerable while frozen.

Thunderjaw:
- IMPORTANT: tear its disc launchers FIRST, they are a pain
- do not remove its front guns, they will be replaced with untearable wide band laser
- tie the beast down, use tear arrow to remove plates and expose its heart on one or both sides, you'll have plenty of time with shadow ropecaster. Heart is just below the radar (front up from legs)
- grab its own disc launcher and shoot its heart until its dead
- tie it back down if it frees, or if strong on freeze, freeze it to buy enough time and increase damage to heart..

Thanks. Useful tips.

Easy Thunderjaw kill with least amount of ammo cost use:

1. 1 tear arrow to take out one of its disc launchers.
2. 3 freeze arrows to freeze it.
3. Take the disc launcher and blast the frozen mofo.
4. Repeat 1,2,3 with its other disc launcher.
5. Dead Thunderjaw.

Cheeziest way to kill a Thunderjaw in 0 second combat time, ie instant kill:

1. Crounch in a bush near the Thunderjaw.
2. Place 15 tripcaster blast wires with at least 500 damage on top of each other near where you are but not in the path of the Thunderjaw.
3. Lure call the Thunderjaw to your blast wires.
4. Dead Thunderjaw.

I use mitropower's method everytime I want to feel like a strong independent woman completely free of the Male Gaze. I use your method whenever I feel like an incel neckbeard who holds the world record for the Ocarina of Time speedrunning. Just depends on my mood

I second that these tips work. However, I use the Tearblaster instead of tear arrows. I found it more effective. Recommended 10/10

Yes, get the weaver armor at level 10 right when you come out of the Embrace and the rest of the game is a breeze.

Doesn't that make the game too easy. What is the point if you are invulnerable.

The armor doesn't give you invulnerability, but does give you an edge.
