I had Forza Horizon 4 do this to my bluetooth on occasion. I ended up just switching to a cheap $20 set of speakers with a subwoofer.

One possible remedy might be to manually disable all other audio devices except for the headphones.

What kind of headphones are you using (not the brand, i'm asking if it's blue tooth or USB or jack connection)?

If it's blue tooth, what kind of bluetooth receiver do you have on your machine -- something embedded or an external dongle (USB dongle for BT)?

Are you gaming on laptop or 'normal' PC?

1. Is your power source sufficient to feed all your components? If it is underpowered, then USB ports are the most likely ones to lose power.
2. Is your system overheating?

Microsoft's community site is normally worse than useless, but the suggested remedies might actually work here.
