Horizon zero dawn not launching

hi. I recently bought this game and i just finished the download. I started the game but it is not launching. I have to say that this happened in Terraria some time ago and then it solved itself after some days but i don't understand the problem.
I read that some users had this problem because of steam cloud, so I deactivated the auto sync, but nothing. My computer is really good so I don't really know what it is. (every driver appear to be "last version" of...)
Can you help me?

My computer is really good cause it fit recommended spec. I verified game integrity, i restarted steam, i restarted windows (11), i rebooted the pc (although this is not the answer most of the time). My pc is new (msi mag infinite - intel i7 2.5 ghz 11th gen, ram 16 gb, rtx 3060)

I don't think is a matter of driver, but im using the last version, the one you say is problematic.
The fact is I had the same problem with terraria some years ago and after some days that thing solved itself without my work.
Now: I don't know about the setting you suggested to modify but the thing is I never had to change settings in general.
The point is: when I start the game, on the right of the start button, I see "steam cloud sync", updating the game data (but I never played before at this game so I don't know what he is syncronising). After that synchronization is finished, the game does not start at all.

You have much better spec than my PC so you should run it fine. I would suggest to find your HZD folder typically it's in '"Drive":\steam\steamapps\common\Horizon Zero Dawn' where your .exe is located. Right click and open properties, and set it to run as administrator. This seemed to work for me as I had tried everything else.

so I run it as administrator and apparently my pc does not have:
MSVCP140.dll
VCRUNTIME140.dll

You need to install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable Update 3 RC
which can be found here; https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=52685
get and run both the 64 and 86 versions . that way you are covered for 64 and 32 bit games.

So: i try to install thi thing but pc say that's impossible to install that because there is another version of that already installed (i have some of those until 2019 version, I can see them in control panel, the last one is Microsoft Visual c++ 2015-2019 redistributable)
Usually steam download this packages automatically right?

I don't know. This happened to me once with terraria so i don't think is because the recommended specs. I noticed something weird with steam cloud when trying to launch the game but there is no reason not to work properly

I remember there was a way to force Steam to reinstall the VC++ redist; I think if you verify the steam common libraries?

You can force Steam to reinstall common redistributables by deleting the following registry key:

Type in regedit then delete the two registry keys below. Now verify game files and it should reinstall VC Redist or you can install them from Microsoft.

32-bit Windows:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Valve\Steam\Apps\CommonRedist

64-bit Windows:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Valve\Steam\Apps\CommonRedist

Edit: You could also just uninstall VC Redist in windows then download and reinstall them from Microsoft website.

This game is still not launching. I tryed everything you said but nothing. I wrote to steam support but they were not usefull at all.

Did you update windows recently? I had a windows 11 update and now HZD crashes my computer while loading.

I bought a gaming pc and during initial configurationit updated itself to windows 11

Bro, from what your saying the issue is a corrupt VC Redist. This is an easy fix so just uninstall all your VC Redist then download Visual Studio 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2022 x64 version from Microsoft website.

Let me know if this fixes your crashing which I think it will.

Please also make sure your antivirus isn't blocking your game or VC REDIST.
