That's a *LOT* of arrows to be crafted. I do definitely suspect something is up with the savegame function here. People have reported the game occasionally seems to corrupt game saves and this was a PS4 problem too.
Depends! You need 10 shards for 5 hardpoint arrows without the 'ammo crafting perk' (don't know the name of it right now). If you use the '3 arrow perk' you need a lot of arrows depending on the difficulty you are playing on and your aiming skill. ;) The playsytyle is important in this case. If you don't use other weapons, ammo types or don't care about weaknesses... ;)
So, to fully upgrade all 13 ammo containers, all 4 satchels and the Potions Pouch will consume a grand total of 9,800 metal shards (plus all the other materials of course)! Add all those metal shards consumed when crafting arrows and it's really easy to burn through a few thousand metal shards without even noticing!
BTW, thanks again for your input :)
I see this is not today's topic, but it's still very topical, because actually Horizon Zero Dawn Remaster was recently released, and I actually encountered the bug within this new one. Seems like it has inherited a problem... (At the moment, Patch 1.3 is the latest, there's still a chance they've already realized it and going to fix it soon...)
If you're at a merchant and you sell certain resrouces/weapons and your metal shards get above 1000, they simply just reset (I guess overflow) and your sold stuff doesn't get back into your inventory either.
At first I was just wondering what the 9 hells was that... I must be a total idiot... but when the second time it came up, I knew it... It's a good old bug, nothing special, just annoying as always...
But guys, I won't waste any more time here, I have to report this to Sony (after all, it's been about 4 years from when the game has been released
I've got a short video of me somewhere in the beginning of "The Grave-Hoard" mission, having over 13K shards, and now if I use a save to get back to a later part of that same mission I have 252 shards. I would have crafted some ammo in between those points, but there's no way that I used up all those shards. So definitely a bug.
