Was working fine. Then one day it just started to crash. I did'nt change anything on my PC, no mods, ect.
1) Make sure you have the latest chipset, GPU and other drivers and that your Windows is up-to-date
2) Run "Verify integrity of game files". If these do not fix it:
3) Start command prompt (CMD) with admin privileges and run these commands
sfc /scannow. If it reports errors it can not fix, run these commands:
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
4) Disable any 3rd party antivirus for testing and make sure firewall does not block the software either. Also do not let any "speedbooster" "revo uninstaller" or "ccleaner" run in the background - ever!
5) If that does not solve it, uninstall game and reinstall it
6) If this does not fix the issue, there could be an issue with "Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015" which HZD uses. Go to Windows add/remove software, remove this 2015 version, download it from Microsofts website and install it.
7) If non of these work, either your hardware is unstable, incompatible or you need to reinstall Windows from scratch.
Is that related to Intel stability issues with some models that boosted too far too hard and suffered silicon degradation and made Intel release new BIOS versions?
I did'nt change anything, the game was fine one day, then it decided to stop working. This was on my old system.
Then I got a brand new system, the specs I posted. On day one, a fresh install of everything, all drivers updated, ect.. It still crashed the very first time I tried to play.
All my other Sony games in my Steam library run without issue.
Yes I uninstalled game and reinstalled it. Cleared system chace, Uninstalled steam and reinstalled it. It still crashes.
If I did'nt install any mods or change my system in any way, and all of a sudden it stopped working, its on them, not me.
I should'nt have to do all this stuff just to be able to play a game I paid for.
i am unable to start the game without signing the document! there is no button to ignore the new eula document. i want my money back!
is this a sequestration of a steam game by sony through the back door?
steam please check this!
And no, before anyone asks, I won't be spending a dime upon a so called HZD: Remastered that comes bundled with an attempt to try to force players/customers to create a PS Network account just to play it when this has always been a Single Player game without ever requiring that sort of internet connection crap (probably apart the occasional Steam cloud save).
For shorts: I'm voting with my wallet for shorts, period and final paragraph.
Game itself works and has lots of players, so the problem is not the game itself. If you have had issues with two separate computers (and you did not move any components from one to other), I would guess you use some software that is incompatible with HZD, something that you had in your old system and new. Maybe your antivirus, maybe your firewall, maybe some screen recorder, maybe some registry cleaner, RGB controller, maybe some poorly coded software that came with motherboard, keyboard, mouse or something.
I get the same thing on the new system that I did with he old system, crash on start up.
I go into my documents Horizon zero dawn folder and all that are there are saved games folder and screenshot folders. Screenshot folder is empty, saved game folder is just saved games. No settings.
I forgot to mention, I have a Steam Deck, it runs great on that. But I don't want to play it on the Deck, I want to play it on my more powerful PC.
Therefore, I advise you to search for those upon Duck Duck Go, Google, etc. etc.
Good idea, but this crash on start up started before I bought my Steam Deck.
