Just because it's under a different AppID doesn't imply the game's save path will change. It won't even need to import saves during the install; it'll just let you use saves if it finds them. They're aware their userbase is mostly non-technical gamers, I'm sure it'll be seamless, transparent, and effortless. You know, cause of all the whining.
