It isn't a great leap when you believe the disembodied voice of the All Mother is a mystical, or magical being. Aloy is constantly searching for Mother. This is the closest she has gotten to the truth of her existence. A disturbing truth at best. How can a mountain birth a human baby?
What does happen is, instead of finding the truth (or Mother herself) she is disappointed yet again. And she will be disappointed several times after this. But, teera gives her a push, and commands her to go answer these questions.
For surely magics such as these, they must be connected. It might not be anything more than her gut telling her something is going on. This is their only lead, so - go Aloy, go.
