Sometimes, voices and/or audio can sound robotic. Did anyone ever figure out a way to fix this?
I saw that it was a known issue and supposedly fixed multiple times in various post launch patches. But I am still getting robotic like voices or just in general super low quality audio.

Playing from a HDD or SSD? And what is your audio setup?

SSD. Audio is coming out through a LG C9, nothing fancy audio wise.

are you running the audio in over HDMI or with a aux 3.5mm jack? Try setting the audio settings manually in the Sound system (on the PC side, but if you want to check the TVs settings menus, go for it) to be only 16-bit 48k and nothing higher. If it sounds like robots on AM radio, that's usually what it is, the bitrate autonegotiation isn't the best and it's resampling...

in the game there's various format settings on the audio tab too, try each of them, see if one is better than the other.

HDMI. I will investigate further tonight and give an update. Thanks for the help! :lunar2019piginablanket:

Sadly, the TV was set to 16 bit and 48K. No other options in the audio tab were applicable.

I can try a wireless headset to see if its reproducible with that

yep I'm in the same robot boat as you... I had to pull my portable USB DAC/amp that I use for commuting, for HZD duty, and it's not good for li-ions to leave them constantly charging, but it simply hates my 32/192 Realtek chip, even forcing the settings to a dozen different formats... it's just not implemented in a very compatible way that is happy with the many thousands of possible audio streaming variants... I'm guessing your BT headset will "just work" and it'll be fine. It sucks you have to resort to that, but at least you have options. A lot get stuck with putting up with the metallic low-quality audio.

Some people have had luck where they start a youtube HD video playing in a browser before they launch the game, game fires up, everything is fine (showing it's an initialization problem, it can't initialize the card directly since it's not in exclusive mode) and then once the game is playing, they alt-tab over and pause the video... crazy right? but for some it works.

happy workaround hunting, you're on the right track.
