Native 1440p vs FSR 4K
Hello all, with the graphic settings set the same to Ultimate Quality which one do you think the best in terms of visual? Between native 1440p vs 4K with FSR Ultra Quality mode ??

Currently playing it on my 75inch TV from playing distance around 2m and cant seems decide which one is better from my peasant eyes 😅🙏

Don't use FSR Ultra Quality from the game's menu.

If you have an AMD/Intel ARC GPU, either mod in LukeFZ's FSR3 Frame Gen mod (Patreon) (you can just keep FSR 2.1 temporal upcaling, much better than native FSR 1.0) or you can mod in XeSS instead (CyberXeSS from DLSS2FSR Discord server)

Set 4K60 XeSS Performance and you're good to go.

I have AMD GPU RX6700XT, well I dont quite good on modding or changing stuff like you said above. If my only option are the one that I mentioned above which on then that you choose ?

LukeFz's mod ads the option for FSR3 Frame Generation and is behind a 6$ paywall.
The other one is free, doesn't have Frame Gen, you can chose FSR2.1 or XeSS: https://github.com/cdozdil/CyberXeSS/releases/tag/v0.3.3

The game uses FSR 2.2.

The only reason to pay for lukes mod is for frame generation and its still not quite there yet. Gove it a few more weeks.

Only use FSR if you REALLY need a lot more frames because the image quality suffers too much compared to native. Better turn down settings in the game. If you ask 1440p native vs 4k FSR quality, I would go with 1440p native, sharper, faster and less energy.

sorry I don't understand, if your native resolution is 1440p why would you play on 4k? Either use 1440p or the fsr equivalent of dlss quality.

thank you, roger that !! In the end I choose 1440p native :)

I have 4K monitor, but my GPU cant run it stable on 60fps all the time, sometimes dips as low as 40ish, thats why I asking better 4K with FSR (since my GPU is RX 6700XT) or 1440p native which can run the game stable on 60fps all the time

You can't run a 4k monitor natively at anything other than 4k.

If you run at 1440p, either you will be running a 2560x1440 image letterboxed into 4k, or you will be upscaling from 1440p to 4k. Your GPU can upscale better than your display can, but that obviously costs performance.

so do you think it will be better on 4K with FSR Ultra Quality?

if you are running the game at 1440p on a 4k screen, it will run better but look bad.

if you run the game at 4k fsr on a 4k screen, it is basically running at 1440p but upscaled to 4k so you get more performance than if you ran it at 4k, but it looks worse than 4k without fsr.

if you run at just 4k you get worst performance but best image quality.

basically in terms of performance you get 1440p > 4k fsr > 4k
in terms of quality you get 4k > 4k fsr > 1440p.

if you can run the game at 4k with fps you are happy with, run it at 4k. if you can't, try out fsr or lower your settings. I wouldn't recommend running at 1440p unless you have to.
