I can't handle Aloy's face

I used to own the game on PS4 but found myself putting it aside rather quickly. I've been tempted to get it on PC a few times now when it's on sale but for some reason that face of her's just puts me off too much. To a degree where I can't bring myself to play it...It's like she's packing an extra chromosome or something, that shape and expression on her face just annoy me to no end.

The crazy thing is that the real life person she was modeled after is really cute:

They just did a terrible job translating that to the game imo.

It's ok to not want to play a game with an ugly playable main character. If you have to look at a character for 30 hrs, it's better if they're not distracting. I'm with ya. I love Yakuza, and Kiryu looks cool AF. I play Nier and the characters look great. It's just annoying how everyone has to look "realistic" so the real life ugly people don't get butthurt.

I heard they actively worked to make the female characters in this game look unattractive. It's part of a trend that seems to have started with Anita Sarkeesian.

The developers themselves actually said once, and I quote: ''We wanted to make Aloy's character model closer to a fifteen year old boy's in order to challenge gender stereotypes''.

In other words: Aloy is, in essence, a Hermaphrodite. If not, then at least an Androgyne.
