Best Looking graphics/Performance
Cant seem to find the sweet spot for graphics/performance and grass looks terrible on all settings, particularly distant grass. Tried, FSR, super scaling with no luck. Also tried FSR 2.1 mod and no luck again. Any suggestions?.

Do you have a nVidia graphics card? You could try DLSS instead.

1080ti, so stuck on FSR.

Fair enough! Surprised FSR isn't looking that good. I'm not too experienced with using upscaling, but I want to say I read somewhere the type of anti-aliasing could affect what the final image looks like. Have you tried seeing if different anti-aliasing methods help?

Yeah normally FSR is good, especially 2.0. Tried with the AA and SMAA is second best, TAA being the best. With FSR on you cant change AA method. Appreciate the help.

Capped at 72 fps with scaling on quality (Settings High). Seems to be the best so far but distance is still ordinary.

What is your cpu? View distance has a big impact on cpu

A 1080 Ti can play HZD with everything at Ultra and usually hit 60 fps without using FSR.

Maybe turn Shadows or Reflections down a notch if you want to run at faster than 60 fps; using 72 implies one has a 144 Hz display.

Cpu is 10600kf, OC at 4.7 Monitor is 165 due to future proofing.

Hoping to get new card this year. 82 was ok but had to drop graphics more to be stable-ish.

4090 no problems for me.

To eliminate the grass shimmer you'd need to employ Super Sample Anti Aliasing (make a custom 4k resolution in Nvidia Control Panel even if your monitor runs at a lower resolution, then you can choose it in any game).

The downside is of course the performance impact.

I haven't managed to get NVCP to accept a resolution higher than 4k :/ so this method is limited to 2x Super Sampling if you have a 1080p monitor.

I assume you're gaming at 1080p? I am as well and even with some newer components grass can look... blah. you could try changing some settings in your monitor, more specifically if your monitor has a sharpness and Image enhancement you could try turning those down a smidge. Basically too high of a sharpness can make things look a bit jagged on some games whereas no sharpness enhancing can make it look dull or too fuzzy. Maybe when you get a new card you can also try and find a cheap 1440p or 4K monitor. Pixel Density makes all the difference in making things sharper without making it so you can see the individual pixels

If you have an nvidia card never ever add a custom resolution of 4k, you should instead stick with DSR or DLDSR if you have an RTX card. The method you mentioned is for before Nvidia even made DSR.

Sure but what's wrong with making a 4k custom resolution? I know using a resolution greater than your monitor supports disables the Flip presentation model (so no Fullscreen Optimizations for Borderless Fullscreen mode) but that's the only notable downside I can think of.
