when should i start the DLC Frozen Wilds?
first of all, pls no spoilers, thanks my dudes

now the question: when should i start this? it says its a lvl 30 quest. im already lvl 29 so i could probably go there. HOWEVER. im asking if it makes more sense story or lore wise to go later, or even after the main story of the main game.

what do you guys say? should i go there now? or is it better after the main story, to finish up the game?

It's mostly a separate story but you might learn some things about a certain person who contacts you a lot.

You should do it before the main story is done too btw.

I just finished it and I'm barely through the game. The DLC doesn't spoil the main story in any way.

How far into Frozen Wilds do you get the ability to mod spears?

Been finding these weapon mods early in the base game, and after a brief spoiler-free google search it seems like you only get the ability to mod it unlocked in the expansion.
Wondering it it's worth it to be holding onto the mods taking up inventory space for the next dozen hours or so, or if it's a quick and easy process to get this ability?

I started the DLC right before the last mission, While I was on my way I received a special dialogue from certain person who contacts you a lot, like Edifier said. (on my second run I rushed the DLC and I received no transmission)

It is like that because you chat with "something" when you finish the DLC main missions, and the information you share could spoil some of the story depending on your progress.

Be sure to be 30+ with good mods on your weapons or the lodge versions specially if u use the ropecaster a lot like me.

Pretty early into the game, actually is one of the first Errands you can get, be sure to get the purple spear first because you can place two mods using that spear

You should approach it later, it's totally separate, and it's a very interesting quest btw.

wait im confused. so am i supposed to do the DLC NOW or wait till im almost done with the game?

I would recommend to wait until you are almost done with the base game, because you should have advanced equipment by then.

alright thanks guys. will do main quests then for now. btw, is there any indicator to know when im about to finish the main game? like a warning or something? is there a spoiler free answer you can give me? if not then dont say anything at all, thats fine too.

When you get to the ''Colosseum like arena from Rome'',after that quest it should be the right time to do the dlc...the DLC story takes place before the end of the game.If you played zelda breath of the wild Dlc,its the same thing....actually,if you play the dlc,the endgame should have additional conversations and npcs because you have done the dlc story

finish the main story then start the dlc.
horizon main game release date: march 2017
frozen wilds dlc release date: november 2017
not that hard to understand i think.

if take into consideration the release date, yes, but cronologically the DLC story takes place before the end of base game,so it makes no sense to do it after....this is so true that if you do the DLC story before ending the game, the last mission have conversations about what you have done in the DLC.
So...if you like story AND lore, you're wrong

In the case of HZD the DLC is a complement to the main story, not a continuation... if you were playing the DLC after finishing the base game you were doing it wrong xD

Countdown Aug 14, 2020 @ 3:41pm
Do it after the quest involving a place called the "grave hoard."
