USED FOR Selling for Metal Shards

In USED FOR is anything only listed as "Selling for Metal Shards" something I can sell off and not carry around thinking it my be needed for some yet unrevealed purpose?

Yes. Pro tip, though: sell everything green or lower in rarity unless it's used for crafting. It's just wasted space.

As far as I know those items can be safely sold.
It's probably best to check the wiki as that description isn't accurate for everything (a bunch of lens, hearts, bones, skins for example have no use beside being sold).

Skins (not more than 10, because even for Adept stuff you will never need more than 10), Meat (about 30-50 not more) Lenses, Hearts (usually around 2-5), Blaze and Metal Vessel (Around 200, as there are vendors that will ask about so for their stuff) and stuff that you need for your personal armory crafting you can keep. Anything else or over these amounts can be sold or dismantled

I guess you a rather at the start of the game. Keep blue hearts, they are required to buy some armors and weapons. You won't need more than 2 of any type if i remember correctly.
