terrible, constant texture glitches!!
This game is plagued with texture glitches from the beginning of the damn game. Several messed up stretched textures in the cave level. It was so bad that the opening to a room in the cave was completely blocked off. I'm getting texture glitches on the characters, wildlife and random objects in the game. Who in the !@#$ is in charge of QC for this game? They had to se this !@#$!

I'm getting great framerates and the overall the game looks beautiful at 1044p but these glitches are ruining the game experience. :steamsad:

yea same, I could bear with low graphics since I have the minimum specs, but that flickering gives me a seizure

I dont even have textures. I get the base mapping and thats it. Everything is a blurry extra low definition mess.

If you've forced Anisotropic Filtering via the nvidia control panel (possibly AMD as well), you need to have the game recompile shaders. This can be done by deleting the PSOCache.bin file located in <game install folder>\LocalCacheDX12\.

Re-building the local game shaders cache could fix your glitches. It's worth trying. If you don't know how to proceed do not hesitiate asking on it.

By chance, did you override any graphics settings like AF or AA via your Nvidia's/AMD's Control Panel? If you did so, rebuilding shader cache is highly recommended or simply a must.

This could help too. I never experienced any texture glitches and I've been always using 451.85 with this game.

The game will recompile shaders when you update the gpu drivers.

Alt-tabbing out of game when I saw blurry > alt-tabbed back into game, crisp. Wow.

There were some settings I adjusted. I'll switch them back to default. I'm on studio drivers, might switch over to gaming and see if that helps. How do you re-builder shader cache? Never done that before. Very useful replies from everyone!

I didn't change that setting. I probably consider deleting that though.

The studio drivers are the problem. 451.77 is broken with Decima engine games like this and Death Stranding.

Did you mean 451.67? Or is 451.77 a hotfix? I'm getting water flickering with 452.06, and I'm now jumping back to 451.67.

No, I mean 451.77. 77 is a studio driver, not a gameready driver. As for water flickering, did you mess with the anisotropic filtering setting in nvidia control panel? That seems to cause that to happen.

Do not forget to delete the PSOCache file, when you install a new driver. The textures are corrupted if you do not the shader compiling procedure again. I hope the devs write this in the compiling screen. I think this is a big issue.

You found the PSOCache file right here:
programs\steam\steamapps\common\Horizon Zero Dawn\LocalCacheDX12

Delete here the PSOCache.bin file not the other files.
Start horizon zero dawn exe and wait for the shader compiling. Do not do anything in the time of the shader compiling on your rig. It is a hard demanding process. Every other process could produce errors or crashing the process.

Sorry for my grammar
This is not my main language

As Nvidia user use the new 452.06 driver or the 451.85 hotfix driver. Do clean install.
Use the ddu tool to deinstall the complete old driver.

Studio Drivers are not for gaming. Do not use the studio driver 451.77, like the user seamus wrote in the thread. Thanxs

I hope i Can write the links right here. Here you will find also the newest drivers for AMD.
