Can`t open map on PS5 controller

Hello guys, everytime i click the touchpad to open the map on my controller it just flicks black for a second and the spotify overlay shows up on windows and then flicks black again before showing the game again. Anybody got a solution?

Sounds like an issue with whatever's doing your controller mapping, not the game. The game has no way to invoke spotify.

Occurs to me.

That actually kinda sounds like windows is catching the touchpad and interpreting it as pusing the xbox button on an xbox controller. Maybe disable game bar and other crap in windows?

Game bar disabling is a good thing. W* gets all twitchy about it.

I disabled the game bar and closed spotify aswell, still the same issue but instead of Spotify now it shows the volume control.

Yeah, it's something to do with whatever is handling controller mapping. dualsense for windows or whatever the version for the ps5 controller is called.

What app do u use to emulate PS5 DualSense? Your common options are Steam Client in-built controller support, DS4Windows, DSX. I tested them all with HZD and no issue with touchpad opening map, but depending on your app the controller mapping could glitch and needs checking to make sure it has been set right (pretty much default settings).
The other thing, like other folks said here game bar should be preferably off and Steam overlay should be also off unless you use it for other games.

its steam doing that i have had issues with controllers opening random windows for years lol. if it was possible to run the game with steam closed and your controller still work you would not have that issue

Well, if you're using steam input, sounds like the steam controller profile you're using has the touchpad bound to the xbox button. Just edit the profile.

Hi, if you still haven't resolved this issue, I would recommend you try to download and install DS4Windows and give it a go. Steam controller support is fine, they both do similar thing, but DS4Windows has more settings (you normally don't want to change them) and gyro support etc. Gyro will work with Horizon, but it's pretty useless in this game, not accurate and not needed. But in your situation it's good to test with second app just to understand what is not working. If touchpad map works with DS4Windows, you can keep using this app, if not, the problem is not Steam, but perhaps something else in Windows settings. I don't think this is Windows tho. Remember to first disable controller support in Steam completely before you activate DS4Windows, they will conflict with each other. Thank you, this definitely helped. However i had to use the xbox controller mapping instead because the touchpad still wouldn`t open the map, however with the 360 mapping every button is the same except now i can open the map with the share button. Big improvement, much appreciated.

Not sure, but you may be able to bypass the issue until you can fix it by using a keyboard to open the map by pressing ‘m’ or enter
