Once you see them, it will be obvious. For the Dreamstuff (tm) you might have to climb up a rock/tree close by, and then jump. Which means running jump as best as you can. If there is a ledge aim for it.
If you are using a controller and are jumping do not RELEASE the left stick until you land!
You will quit moving forward and not make the jump. This is true for many games using controllers.
If something seems too difficult to do, you are probably going about it the wrong way.
Heck... and for mere comparison value, more than once I've figured out a climbing up to certain spots while continuously jumping and trying to aim for the ledeges nearby (btw, I'm using a mouse and keyboard). And when I reached those spots then saw a climbing ledge, but at that point I wasn't going to do the reverse way just to get up in there all over again.
That's something they did address in the second game, Forbidden West. You can pulse the Focus and see bright yellow marks easily.
You don't have to hold jump (or direction stick) until you're "finished" with the jump on controller. Press and let go of Jump and Aloy do the rest automatically.
Glad to hear it, particularly since I'm a 100% PC gamer (apart 1 cell phone's game).
And are there any release date expectations thrown into their PC port of that one, by any chance?
Unfortunately, no idea if or when second will come to PC. Played both on PS first and only got Zero Dawn on PC recently so I could aim with the mouse. Mouse so much better I almost feel like I'm cheating on PC compared to controller use on console.
Another good thing that second improves is you can rearrange the order of your potion, bombs and traps in the second. Can even craft by holding do the item use button.
Melee combat got a lot more detailed/skill wise. Some things need to be timed so button mashing. Wasn't a huge fan but it was def better than zero dawns.
When you pickup more of an item than you can carry it automatically gets sent to your stash/storage crate you can access from most camps.
Think that's most of the things I didn't like about Zero Dawn improved for Forbidden West.
Climbing points is one, proper upgrade of weapons and Armour (using workbenches), better highlight of resources when you fight machines etc.
How game play is i cant say, not played it.
