CPU Virtualization causing stuttering issues, running to fast and overall weirdness...
Okay I posted this as a reply to my BIOS update post before but I am running a Ryzen 5 5600X on A ROG Strix B550 F Gaming mobo, with 64 GB of RAM and a GeForce RTX 3060 12 GB having CPU Virtualization turned on with this hardware setup is causing the majority of the game issues is anyone interested in hearing this? I sent an email to guerrilla-games as well to inform them of this issue because in all of my internet searching I never found anyone that had discovered the connection between these two things. with Windows subsystem for Android now becoming more popular in Windows 11 I imagine that a lot of users have Virtualization enabled in their BIOS. I asked Guerrilla if perhaps they could drop a patch that would fix this issue because I personally want to keep Virtualization on but I also would like to be able to play Horizon Zero Dawn and any upcoming Horizon titles that come to PC I don't know if this should be fixed with a BIOS update or another game patch but it does need to be addressed. On my machine, this single thin was causing all of the issues that most everyone has complained about with this game on PC. I think this is something important that the developers need to know about. Give me some feedback if you have discovered this yourself, especially if there is a workaround for it.

My VRAM issues with Horizon Zero Dawn (HZD) had only started when Valve decided to shove their latest eye candy, resource hog, still buggier than the previous Steam's UI (User Interface) of theirs upon us all (and please check that link to see to find my solution to see if it solves your issue because it surely solved mine).
Nothing before and all that came after prevented me from even playing HZD.
Ergo, imho, it's not your "BIOS" that it's to blame but rather their poor ethical business driving helm pattern that's becoming more and more apparent lately.

I have CPU virtualization on and never had a problem with this game, it's always run buttery-smooth with good framerate and no stutters on highest settings, I've had maybe single crash in hundreds of hours of play...using a laptop with RTX 3060 like yours, with much less memory and a 2.30 Ghz intel processor. I'm sure many people playing this also have virtualization on as you say, but most people seem to have good experience with performance and stability in this game...there are always outliers and sad fact that no developer can account for every combination of hardware out there, just the way it is and always has been on Windows since everyone's rig is a hodgepodge of software and hardware made by a bazillion different people... it's unfortunate when you find yourself to be in that group. It might be something specific to your processor, but at least you've isolated the issue and can change your settings to run the game, even if it's not ideal to your other needs.

Yeah, I am running a Ryzen 5 5600X so it could be a CPU-specific issue. Perhaps I should change my searches to something like Horizon Zero Darn Ryzen CPU issues. I would really like to find a workaround for this besides turning virtualization off every time I want to play Horizon Zero Dawn, booting a PC has gotten significantly faster with the advent of NVME SSDs but it's still not something I really want to do each time I wish to play this game. For now, I am keeping virtualization off, I don't use it that much and I figure that once I finally finish Horizon Zero Dawn I can start keeping it on again. Thanks for your responses and if anyone else has any further input on this issue please chime in. I'm sure that I'm not the only one out there that is using this combination or a similar combination of hardware and I would like to hear what others have experienced and if they discovered any work arounds.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
