It is a sony game on pC, theyre kinda known to crash more than the average game. For me I crash a lot during the first few hours in literally every sony game, then it stops crashing.

For the steam deck, I imagine it is because it is using too much power so it crashes to save the components. Gow 4 on pc did this too me when ever it reached 4.4 to 4.5ghz used on my CPU. I had to switch it to 3.375 ghz and that stopped. Theres a good chance it crashes to not have your device over heat. Try lowering the settings and see if that helps, or lock the games FPS like 10 fps lower than what you have it at on average.

This game really should not be deck verified. It does not show the correct controls (shows steam controller touchpad instead of right analog) and the controls stop responding often. When the right analog stops responding toggling the weapon wheel will fix it but when all controls stop responding you have to force quit and relaunch.

I set it to tue performance graphics and locked it at 30 fps. Working good now.

Hmmm I don’t have this issue I’ve played the game for 40hrs so far solely on the deck. I get between 45-60fps with all medium settings and highest textures.

Also if you want to modify settings on your deck for best performance watch these videos

Huh. Highest textures on a steamdeck and you're not getting the n64 effect?

Wonder if that's related to being run through proton. Makes me wish I had one of the 2gb/3gb amd video cards laying around I could test on linux as they're the ones that had the most issue with it. Perhaps it's exclusive to windows.

I've already done the first video to my deck I'll check put the second one. But whenever I try to play at medium settings with a 45 fps the game crashes after 15 - 45 mins everytime
