Change of arrows
I'm playing this game, it's great, and the translation is great as well, but I'm having trouble with certain mechanics in the game. Currently the one that I can't for the life of me figure out how to change the ammo for the bow. I need to use fire arrows in the bow, but I'm unable to match them to the bow. I'm still shooting "regular" arrows. Where am I going wrong, how do I do this?
I'm playing the PC version

You need to have a hunter's bow or a war bow equipped, then fire up the weapons wheel and you should see your weapons in one of the four positions north/south/west/east. Each weapon can have 1-3 different kinds of ammo. If you have weapons equipped that can have different types of ammo, the weapon wheel will have the weapon slot split into smaller bits and you have to select the right ammo specifically. For example, if you have the shadow hunter's bow equipped in the west position on the weapon wheel, then regular arrows will be straight west and fire arrows will be just below that ... west-south-west, if you will.

Thank you so much, that's exactly what I needed to know :)

I am also on PC but use only KB/M. Keys 1-4 are the keys for which weapon I want to use. Then to rotate to different arrows I just keep hitting the key the bow/weapon I want to use.

I keep my Shadow hunter bow at key "!". Hit ! and it is what I will use, hit 1 again and it changes the type of arrow and it is the same on 2,3,4. I like to keep my hunter bow at 1, then casters at 2, long bows at 3 and slings and blasters at 4. That way if I change weapons to something else it is easier to remember what key for what purpose.

Ugh, this is kind of hard for me. I'll try it tomorrow, thanks.

Just use the weapon wheel. It slows time anyway so bringing it up, going to the weapon/ammo you want and going back to the game is fine. With keyboard/mouse, you hold TAB to do it.

Is more intuitive with a controller, for example with the Xbox controller press and hold LB to bring up the wheel then select weapon.
I pick the wrong one very often though lol is fairly sensitive and switches to a different one at the last moment.

True but aiming with a controller is blasphamous for me heh, i just hold Tab heh, for the weapons wheel that is.
The aiming really made me play with kb and mouse ;p
Edit: have fun with the game btw Kloud :)

For those of us using a PC, with default settings; tapping the numberkeys above your letter keys will bring up either of the four weapons you can equip.

Double or tripple tapping it, switches the arrows to the one you prefer.

i.e.: tapping the 1 will bring up the hunter bow with the "normal" arrows
Tapping 1 twice, will bring up the same bow, but with the fire arrows.
Tapping 1 thrice will bring up the same bow, but with the higher damage arrows.

And so on.

This works for all weapons when tapping 1, 2, 3 or 4; depending at what you have put where.

Thorin :)

Was what I was trying to say, you did it a lot better.

This way makes more sense to me and is easier. I do use the tab key to restock my ammo.
But I also like to use my mouse scroll wheel button, yes I have a button on the scroll wheel, to use the focus.

I think I need to try kb/m I'm just super rusty, hopefully with some practice could hit those pesky canisters a lot easier.

If you want to stay with a controller and have one with a gyroscope, you could give a config with gyro aiming a whirl. I just recently bought my first controller, so not very controller savvy. Played HZD with controller and gyro aiming on my fourth playthrough and felt it was giving me the best of both worlds: Almost as much accuracy when aiming as with a mouse and a lot better mobility esp. for melee and dodging than with a kb. Of course your mileage may vary. (personally had to remap the draw e. g., because releasing the trigger may jerk the controller too much for sensitive gyro aim.)

Just, unless you're like me and can't stand weapon wheels. They are for people that use controllers. A keyboard shortcut is faster and doesn't take you out of the game.

To change arrows without the weapon wheel you have to select the same weapon until the ammo you want comes up. This is a terrible mechanic that presupposes everyone is going to use the weapon wheel anyhow. It not only is it cumbersome to have to select the one weapon multiple times, it's especially bad because if you have the weapon you want equipped, selecting it again will bring up a bow loaded with the wrong ammo. Arrrgh

P.S. could I suggest that giving default keyboard commands like "hold TAB" are useless to those that are in the habit of using their own defaults. Most games can customize shortcuts, eh.
