Also, you can make it overheat faster with fire arrows. When the cooling rods come out switch to arrows that do more damage and take them out. When you‘ve destroyed all the other cooling rods, it will eventually expose a last one that is fairly large and dead center, easier to hit.
Run a bit, and when the legs expose weak points, shoot one. When it goes down, shoot the exposed weak points. Rinse and repeat.
The key is really to take out the weapons it has, and Tearblaster is extremely effective at getting that done. If you don't have that, any weapon with decent Tear damage will do. Aim for one of the side guns, since it drops as a heavy weapon that you can use to destroy the other parts.
